The third winner of the Community Assembled Tallies grand illustrations, themed after this song!

"Some will speak of the desert as if it were an unforgiving, merciless creature. Its mornings assault and envelop you in relentless heat, and its nights chill you with frigid winds, either seeking to disarm and leave you to be devoured by the dunes.  
Maybe I've become overconfident, but I've always thought there's more to it than that. This loner's paradise has been my home since birth, and though I should know better than to take it lightly, I know its sands as if they were my own palace.  
Much like a dangerous creature, the desert is alive. And like any beast, there's more to it than its claws." 

As a side note, this might've unintentionally ended up matching this song better, instead. I like to think the feeling was preserved though!!♥
