June 2 - 9th, week long recap (Patreon)

Monday, June 2nd- I was supposed to write the script for the next comic on AdultFriendFinder. Though I had sat down and explored the site too, Matt had been the primary tester of the site and had taken extensive notes on his impressions for me. I wrote two disconnected sections and then reported to Matt that my mind was a blank wall and I had no idea what to write. It wasn't for lack of material, but I just didn't want to work and so I didn't force my brain out of its inertia. That night when I came home, Matt sat down and banged out the first draft of the script-- even managing to make my two disconnected sections usable! 

Tuesday, June 3rd- I heavily edited his script. Matt tends to focus on the negative and though I do want to provide criticism, it needs to be balanced with the positive. Still, my brain was not on track and that was as productive as I managed to be. 

Wednesday, June 4th- I began laying out the comic into my page templates. Brain still pulling through sludge, not being productive, feeling ashamed of my unproductivity. Remember, my normal schedule is Monday: scripting, Tuesday: layout/penciling, Wednesday: penciling/inking. It was Wednesday and I was only just now laying out the pages. Appalling. 

Thursday, June 5th- BAM. I woke up. I penciled all five pages like a motherfucker and even got the first page inked. 

Friday, June 6th- Hot mama! On fire! inked four freaking pages in one day, are you kidding me, that's awesome! Not only that, I felt really good about my drawings. I felt proud. Also, Fridays being Shipping Days, I shipped out orders for Periscope Studio shop and mine. Desperately wished this was Monday or Tuesday so I could have the rest of the week to color the comic. But nope, my super late start meant I'd be working through the weekend. It was my own damn fault. 

Saturday, June 7th- This particular comic required a lot replicating features of the AdultFriendFinder website, so I had to do a lot more typesetting in Photoshop than I normally do, plus I also drew a million faces in this comic. It took a lot of time. Spent all day recreating AdultFriendFinder's website and user profiles and coloring the figures. 

Sunday, June 8th- FINISHED COLORING THE COMIC. 

Monday, June 9th- Started this week PUMPED to work. As I rode my bike in to the studio, I sang "I'm gunna script, I'm gunna script, I'm gunna scriiiiipt" to various famous songs and when I got to work you know what I did? I fuckin' scripted. Got it done first thing. Because Matt was super busy with his work and didn't have time to read over my script, I got my studiomate Lucy Bellwood to look it over and help punch it up with some oral sex jokes. She is a fount of cunnilingus puns and I am grateful for it. Very roughly laid out all four pages of this next comic. I finally registered the OJST book's ISBN number, which is something I'd been putting off foreeeeeever because it'd been so long since I last did it that I didn't even remember what website I was supposed to use. Don't worry, I figured it out. Oh! And I paid our quarterly taxes, which are due June 16th for all you people who pay quarterly. 

I'm super pumped to start drawing this thing tomorrow and I've got a good feeling about the rest of the week. Gunna get this comic done and I gotta finish the book's cover, once for all. Those are manageable. I can do this.
