Alright Squad, So - My goal is to have a discord up for our community by the end of the month - And, as you also know, I don't really have a lot of experience with Discord - That being said, I'm sure some of you DO have a lot of experience with Discord, and I wanted to take ideas for how you think it should be structured.

I used to think Discord was like a "forum" where people just talk - But, when I look at other people's discord, they always have lots of "subcategories" and break things down by topic. So, I'm not so sure if that's "standard" or optimal. But, I wanted to go ahead and run things by you guys to get some ideas so we can hopefully create an fun area for our online community to enjoy conversation -

So, how do you think we should break down the Discord?
Also, if you think it should be broken down into lots of groups, what type of categories do would you like to see in it?

I would sort for Softwares and then you can make forum style channels for each of them where people can open posts for specific topics/issues they have. A general talking channel would also be good. And then a channel for showing off results. That'd be good enough. Maybe a voice channel too, where people can talk and screenshare, sometimes that can help solving issues, seeing the other person's screen (without screenshot flood).

I have ny own discord server and moderate another one so let me help you out. Gorup channels under categories, and the categories for you should be something like this. General - Rules - Welcome Center - General Chat - Announcements Collaboration/Show off - Drawing - Painting - Writing - Modeling - Animation - Video Games Education - Blender - Unity - Unreal - Godot - Etc Entertainment - Memes - Comics - Manga - Animation - Movies - Video Games For rules you should keep them pretty simple and hands off (Instaban the following)- No scam or virus links - Scam/Virus links - No X-rated Content - No Animal Abuse - No gore/people dying etc - Ban or mute dodging tactics like opening threads (Temporary mute and warning for the following) - No Spamming - No politics(Inccluding pro or anti gender/racial ideologies) - No religion - Do not use the @everyone or @here pings
