Attack on Titan 1X10 FULL REACTION

Elizabeth Green

Exciting once again! These 2 by episodes are a killer 😆 but all your questions will get answered throughout the series… with even more questions to come lol. Do yall have My Hero Academia on your list of anime’s? If not, yall should! The final season comes out in May, so plenty of time but highly recommended for yall to watch after AOT or sometime eventually this year! It’s amazing with an inspiring story line, amazing characters and development, and just wildly amazing!

Asylum

Just as a little side note.. Dot Pixis (the commander) wasn't playing Chess with the King, he was playing Chess with a Marquis - just some regional lord.

Chrisiyyi

There is a live action and its terrible, like really bad, i hope they dont make a live action as i dont think it can ever be as good as the anime anyway.

truc tran

the live action did not stick with the storyline of the anime/manga strictly - which made it suck tbh - cos the core storyline is what makes aot great. however, i think their cgi was good, like the titan actually looked scary. cant wait for next wk!

Asylum

To Answer Oaks question about Live Action, there was some hubbub about it in around 2018, Warner Brothers did acquire the rights to make a Live Action, and the IT director Andy Muschietti was attached to the project (But he was already lined up to do IT 2 and the Flash before hand), so it kind of got put on the back burner, but since then there hasn't really been anything said about it - and then of course between Covid and all the actor/writer strikes happening, a lot of stuff was delayed even further. Whether or not it is still WB's intention to make a live action, we have no idea :D As per the most recent article about it, Muschietti is no longer onboard to direct it and WB are looking for someone else. There was a Japanese Live action movie with 2 parts (which deviates heavily from the story - I would not recommend watching it, it's terrible).

Ivan Rasmussen

Love your reactions! I'm sure you've heard this a lot but just be patient. There's a lot of story haha

Ashtail Foxclaw

This episode is when Armin jumped to my top 3 favourite characters.

Regie Khemvisay

There is a live action movie of AOT but i havent seen it. AOT is definitely S Tier Anime and you guys did start at the very top but Anime is such a huge world, there are countless good ones. Death Note, Full metal alchemist, Code Geass, Promised Neverland (these ones have the same vibe as AOT) I hope you guys get to watch these ones also. And then you have animes similar to ATLA such as One piece, Naruto, Bleach, HunterxHunter, Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen. All the anime I mentioned are the popular ones and most talked about.

DustinEatWorld

Reminder:…to watch the OVA „No regrets part 1 and 2“. Ilses Notebook is also worth watching.

Saynt Michael

They are saying Jaeger in the opening, which means "hunter" in German and is Eren's last name. And there is a Japanese live action of AOT, but it deviates a lot from the anime and the effects aren't the best.

CT

You should’ve mentioned MHA. They would love it, & your list is actually really good for newcomers, though TPN fell off after season 2 imo. It’s first season was peak anime + storytelling 🙈

Jessep

John F.

I’m really loving this show so far and I hate that I have to wait a week to see two more episodes.

Regie Khemvisay

Oh yeah ahaha, MHA is so close to marvel superhero and ure right i missed it. The promised neverland was such a hit season 1 that I eneded up reading the manga. Was very disappointed they cut a whole good arc for season 2. Idk why they rushed it like that after such a good reception for S1

Regie Khemvisay

Bruh, so i started watching it, a few minutes in, i was done. Ure right the storyline is what made AoT epic so thr changes made the movie trash

Regie Khemvisay

If it stuck to the main story, maybe it couldve been a lil better but they just took the story of 3 walls and titans and the names

Bee

I wish I could say that you'll get used to the cliffhangers, but it doesn't get easier. 😭 As for the ending discussion, there are so many popular anime out right now, but there aren't many (in my opinion) that reach AoT/ One Piece levels. I've been watching anime since I was a kid, so a bit over 20 years, and the ones I can never recommend enough are Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note, Code Geass, Magi (though the anime wasn't completed), and Haikyuu (if you're into sports like volleyball). The ones I mentioned are some of the most known titles that are held in high regard

Gabriel P.

^ I’ve already posted the watch order with the OVAs included in the comments of the pinned suggestion post in case you guys missed it.

Glenn Quagmire

I calculated the amount of weeks left before Badd Medicine finishes Attack on Titain at a 2 episodes per week rate. Its 39.5 weeks, that's roughly 9 months. I gotta stay alive until then, lmao. :D

Marco Oliveira

You guys have hit the plateau of anime. There are plenty of good anime out there and I've watched hundreds and I will tell you now there is something for everyone. BUT from an objective point of view, attack on titan is leagues above the others.

Basak

great reaction 👍🏻

Megan

There are two Attack on Titan live action movies (they were released as part 1 & part 2 I believe) and I honestly can't remember if it was good or not. I'm thinking it was subpar but I only watched part 1 because I had to wait for part 2 and then couldn't find it anywhere with English sub or dub. During that time period, it was really hard to find Asian translated shows/movies. I just remember one scene they used from the show that they did well. As for a live action show, that would interesting if they go that route.

2024-03-29 11:13:31 Most anime is based of manga (basically a comic) and so with anime they take what in the manga and put it into animation form (sometimes the anime will change so stuff from the manga but usually its 1 to 1 with it). and only 1 man wrote this story which is cool

This show only gets better the longer you go.

Magda Ch

Guys I think the next week could be the first week when you do 3 episodes :) because that’s when the first part of season 1 ends :)

Marco Oliveira

Indeed, If you're looking for a high budget, well written story you got one in death note. I will say after a major turning point in the anime it deteriotes but still so enjoyable

Skellyp

Best part of the week is watching these with you guys, worst part of the week is waiting till the next drop. Be cool if there was another drop on like fridays or something. =-D

Skellyp

Probably don’t watch the live actions. They were done in Japan aswell, and for a live action of AoT to work, would probably have to be done by HBO or some other heavyweight from the west.

Skellyp

I think skipping ilsa’s notebook is fine. I personally don’t like when reactors watch it. But no regrets all the way

Megan D

I would say Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is just as well loved if not more loved than AOT.

jahara daughtry

I think a lot of us agree that they should do death note next. Lol I’ve seen it mentioned a bunch of times. And I think they would get sucked into it completely if they watched. Full metal alchemist (brotherhood) is another amazing Anime! Would love for them to check that out as well.

Faiza

I know you guys keep referencing the writers of the show but the real author of the manga is called Hajime Isayama - the dialogue/story in the show is 99.99% accurate to the original source material he wrote, which is the Attack on Titan manga. So this entire story comes from the mind of one person!

Ana

We waited like 4 years for season 2 😩😩the struggle was real

Ana

Definitely feel like MHA would be a fun watch for them. They give off the same vibes as MHA

Fajar Kurniawan

The live action has bad rating because it didn't stay true to the manga story. and people mad about it. but the CGI is decent IMO. so if they want to see and experience titans in real life. the live action is a good representation. Just not the story though.

Fajar Kurniawan

yes most anime adapted from manga only has one mastermind (the writer or mangaka) that also draw the entire book.

Iced Macchiato

I think they already explained in previous episodes why they most likely cant do this. Maybe if you provide free editing then they can shoot more

SUNMOON

anime wise probably FMBA is up there the JoJo series too i would even put one piece up there even though the anime is so lacking compared to the manga. although i think there some manga's if given just as great runs in there animes as AOT would be in that camp. like berserk with a genuine quality anime adaptation would be crazy but ya Aot is like def in the top 10 of all time

Alina Noll

When are the YouTube cuts coming out? ☺️ love your videos!

Steffen

do you have a more specific answer? days, weeks, months? just asking since no other shows seems to more than 1 or a couple episodes max ahead on patreon, while AOT is at 10 atm

JD Galbraith

Yeah. I think they’d like My Hero. Good story and characters. Plus it isn’t too long.

Veronica

they could not pull off the live action hahah what we got was a mess--not even close to one piece

2024-03-29 11:13:31 Second this, definitely watch these three OVA’s for now. Don’t have to worry about the others ( Lost Girls OVA’s ) till you get to the final season ( season 4 ), so don’t watch these ones till much later. Otherwise the ‘No regrets’ OVA’s ( part 1 & 2 ) can be watched straight after you guys finish this first season. While the ‘Ilse’s Notebook’ OVA must be watched AFTER you watch the first episode of the second season, so just before you watch the 2nd episode of season 2 The best way to experience AOT in order: * Attack on Titan season 1 (episodes 1-25) * Attack on Titan: No Regrets Parts 1-2 (OAD/OVA) * Attack on Titan: Sudden Visitor & Distress ( OAD/OVA’s ) - NOTE: Don’t have to react to these ones, it’s up to guys if you wanna watch these in your on time as it has nothing to do with the main story * Attack on Titan season 2 (episode 26) * Attack on Titan: Ilse’s Notebook ( ODA/OVA ) * Attack on Titan season 2 (episodes 27-37) * Attack on Titan season 3, part 1 (episode 38-49) * Attack on Titan season 3, part 2: (episode 50-59) * Attack on Titan: Lost Girls: Wall Sina, Goodbye Parts 1-2 (OAD/OVA) * Attack on Titan season 4 (Final Season), part 1: (episode 60-75) * Attack on Titan season 4 (Final Season), part 2: (episode 76-87) * Attack on Titan: Lost Girls: Lost in the Cruel World (OAD/OVA) * Attack on Titan Final Chapter Special 1: (episode 88) * Attack on Titan Final Chapter Special 2 (episode 89)

Apollo

You have started off with an exceptionally great anime. Thats not to say there aren't other great anime out there, but this one sits firmly at the top of most peoples lists.

Fatipapi

i just wanna comment on the whole "skip the intro" part. Season one has 2 different intros. The "spoilers" arent too bad, but from season 2 and further, ESPECIALLY season 3 part 2, just skip the intro and watch on it on the very last episode of that season or so, if u wanna see it. The season 3 part 2 intro is just one huge spoiler of what is to happen in that part of the season, so even if you wanna watch all the intros, PLEASE skip at least that one until yall are done with it. I wish i had skipped it when i watched it for the first time.. its also my favorite season btw :D no spoils ofc haha

Lazar Zivkovic

I completely disagree, I don't think its bad enough to reveal the secrets that season 3 part 2 has in store and it would just be a shame for them to miss out on the best intro & song in attack on titan hands down

Fatipapi

well no not the reveal of the end of that season, but it does show the big happening/action event (you know what i mean) and thats just a big spoil.. They can still watch it, just at the end of the season. That way they wont know whats gonna happen there.

rehan khan

when more?

Johnny Blue

I'm new to your Patreon and I'm a bit confused as to why AoT doesn't get edited YT reactions. Do you guys build up a back log of episodes before it hits YT or is it because it's anime it's tough to get edited reactions out for it? I'm sorry if this has been addressed before.

Badd Medicine

Hello. They do get cuts. We get them ready when we are getting ready for them to go on YouTube. The cuts will come here first for "early release" before going to YouTube. This is the same process we had for Airbender and Korra. 🤙🤙🤙 You see something probably this upcoming week🤘

Cherrie

Yes, they did explain it. And they said they might do three but definitely not four. 3 episodes is an hour, about the length of a TV episode and less than a movie, so I'm pretty sure they could do it. I hope they will because some of the arcs are really long.

Catherine Stringer

Love your guy's reactions! Just a note, the description for this episode says you watched it on Hulu not Crunchyroll.

Rena Unnie

those cliffhangers! ahaha!

Patricia B

Well, I mean, not only were they not true to the original story, but the changes they made undermined the motivation for a lot of characters. And they turned one character from a bad-ass who can sometimes be silly into a complete joke. Basically, the makers of the movie had no respect for the source material. The CGI on the titans was the only thing good about it.

Matt Kidd

There is a Japanese live action AoT movie, but you definitely shouldn't watch it. It's terrible, and pretty much all fans like to pretend it doesn't exist. It's sort of like the situation with the live action Avatar movie. I would say AoT is one of, if not the best Anime for newcomers to the medium, but it isn't the best anime overall. AoT just lacks a lot of the typical animation/voice acting tropes in other anime series, and feels a little more western in the way it is presented than many other shows. Once you learn to get used to anime as a medium, other shows will start to pull ahead. It is without a doubt one of my favourite shows in any medium though.
