Can y’all react to legally blonde the broadway version

J Knight

I have an extremely vivid memory of diamond dave reacting to this with you but I guess I hallucinated that 🤣

Jeff K

I very rarely watch the full cut and then the YouTube cut (it's usually one or the other), but hell if I'm not gonna watch this immediately after having watched the full reaction last week. I will not be upset about getting The Room Where It Happens re-stuck in my brain.

Ana

You guys should check out this new show Hazbin Hotel it's a musical series about redeeming souls in hell. It has so many legendary broadway singers. The songs and the story are so great. It's adult animation so it has a lot of wild moments. It's only 8 episodes and they are about 22 minutes each.

JD Galbraith

I was able to see it live, not with the OG actors, and it was phenomenal. As a history teacher I like bringing this play/movie into my classroom. I teach a history through film class and this is definitely in the curriculum. The story may not be 100% accurate but it’s fun. That’s the thing. You hope with it being fun the kids will be interested to learn more. Glad you loved it!

Griffin

I do think they guys should also watch Les Mis and Rent. Two very beautiful musicals that aren't the classic "musical theater" style

Cara Fernandez

Love this reaction so much! More musical recommendations: In The Heights (also by Lin Manuel Miranda!), Chicago, Rent, Hairspray (it's hilarious, trust me lol), Dream Girls, West Side Story, and Grease!

So excited that you guys enjoyed this so much - it is such an incredible musical on so many levels! I feel like a lot of the time, some musicals falter in one aspect - whether that be the songs aren't thaaaat great, or the choreography could be better, or the acting is meh, or the set design is mediocre, or the costumes are boring - but this musical, by far, absolutely NAILED every single metric! It's so good! I definitely recommend watching Legally Blonde: The Musical! The MTV-recorded version is on YouTube, and it is also VERY good music-wise, comedy-wise, acting-wise, and production-wise! The set design is very cool, and I think you guys would really enjoy it! Also, since you guys really enjoyed A Very Potter Musical, you would REALLY enjoy its sequel called A Very Potter Sequel. It is even better than the first one, has higher production quality, higher camera quality, and is SUPER funny with BEAUTIFUL songs!

Clemens

Loved your reaction! I think the guy below the stage is actually the conductor/musical supervisor. They have a ten-instrument orchestra below and behind the stage who are performing the incredible music live

Maddie Loftus

Hamilton is certainly on its own level! There might only be a handful of other musicals that would hold a candle to it. If you're looking for a really fun musical though, Hairspray might be a good next one! (The new one, I think, is the way to go 😊)

Lauren Seltzer

I hope you react to more recorded musicals and musical movies. You can even compare the two versions (live recording vs movie adaptation) for something like Rent, Chicago, Hairspray, Sweeney Todd, etc. One of my favorite musicals of all time is Wicked. ❤️ I think you'd really enjoy it!

Cats Chats

Please watch Sweeny Todd (Movie adaptation) and Cats (1998 stage production) - Those are both beautiful and the stories are amazing!

Christine L.

I think you guys will enjoy the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street. It's directed by Tim Burton and stars Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. Alan Rickman is also in it!!

Bri

I randomly started singing songs from Annie the other day and then realized it was on Netflix and watched it! Curious if ya'll have ever seen it since you haven't seen many musicals before.

Megan the Librarian

LOVED this one! I actually watched the watch-along version...but without Disney+ because I have this musical memorized and between the blurred visuals and the tiny bit of audio that leaked through, I could follow along without it. 😂 I would highly recommend that you watch the pro shot version of Come From Away on Apple TV+. It's filmed exactly like Hamilton and is underrated in my opinion (although nothing quite lives up to Hamilton). It's a true story of events that took place in a tiny town in Canada in the aftermath or 9/11...but don't let that scare you away! It's actually hilarious and heartwarming and will restore your faith in humanity!

Jeff K

By the way guys, I don't recall anyone noting it in the full reaction, but did y'all recognize Aaron Burr (Leslie Odom) as the scientist from Glass Onion?

i double recommend in the heights, you guys can watch on hbomax, bc there will be some familiar actors from this production there!

Just Lily

You should check out Chicago!

Sounds Like Drumming

You should absolutely react to the stage production of Into the Woods (not the movie!) It would be completely up your alley, and Oak would love the abundance of lessons.

Talia-Brodie Francis

Such a fantastic musical! And like you guys said, so high energy non-stop throughout, and this vocals and acting too! I have a friend in the London West End cast of Hamilton rn. Most of that cast unfortunately have to work second jobs bc they don’t get paid enough to survive on the show alone, despite doing 8 shows per week. Many actors in musicals are what’s know as “swings”. Meaning that they have learned multiple different roles off by heart so they can understudy if needed. Imagine knowing every single move, dance routine, vocal arrangement, chair lift etc of 3 totally different roles and being ready to switch between at any time. I honestly think they should be paid top dollar for performing a show this brilliant every night. The arts is so underfunded sadly :( so glad to see people like yourselves diving in and discovering just how fantastic musicals and theatre can be! We gotta keep the arts alive!!Love the content guys! 🙏🏽❤️
