commenting this on ep 8 as you guys already know the titan was eren: the 'fingertip' / 'cluster of cells' was actually a pomegranate - i read somewhere that it symbolizes rebirth (in this case, eren's rebirth). also loving the theorizing at the end. never change!

I can now safely say, the pomegranate that Mikasa saw on the ground in the previous episode was an elusive hint to this episode. The pomegranate stands for fertility and resurrection, and I've seen places say Martyrdom as well.

Just going to repost this one - "The story, with all the mysteries and reveals, is what makes it one of the best for me. You will have so many questions, and when one is finally answered it will create even more questions. The painful wait for what comes next does not get any easier". 21:47 was my exact reaction for each of "those" scenes throughout this arc lmao First time watching this journey is incredible, but rewatching and catching all the scenes/lines with double meaning gives you even more appreciation for the story. Its amazing how many small hinting details they put throughout the show.

I do want to just point out to you guys, all of our main characters right now are 15 years old, they started training as 12 year olds but the literally just graduated today. They're watching as their friends get eaten by 4-5 story tall creatures and the last time they lost, 20% of the population got sacrificed. That's a lot of pressure for 15 year olds so some freezing up is a bit understandable lol. Otherwise absolutely loving the reactions, you guys are doing a great job.

Fun fact: the sentence said at the beginning of the opening is: "Seid ihr das Essen? Nein, wir sind die Jäger!" which is german and translates to: "Are you the food? No, we are the hunters!". And Eren's last name is Jäger (Hunter) that word is very clear to understand :)

First time I watched it, I didn't have to wait a week and just binged the first season, I did NOT see it coming and I'm always impressed when other people catch it the moment the titan shows up. If you listen carefully you can actually hear Eren's voice used for its screams and breathing.

You guys are so close and so far on your guesses/ predictions at the same time and I love it lol. Also, it wasn't a finger tip it was a pomegranate, which is historically a symbol of rebirth (among other things) in different cultures. > Mikasa is wondering 'why do I keep standing up, why do I keep fighting', etc., while staring at the pomegranate, and realizes she has to fight to keep her memories of him alive. The pomegranate symbolizes that the thing that she's holding on to, what she fights for (Eren) is reborn, as she put it, as the embodiment of humanity's rage.

I remember the first time I saw this, I immediately thought that Titan was Erin. It looked too much like him not to be. And I went from being upset at his death to super hopeful in the previous episode, even if he remained a titan. I never got far enough in the show for any explanation on this/titans in general. So I wonder if all of them have people inside them, and/or if this is how it started. Some weird experiment that got out of control 100 years ago? I can't wait until we eventually get to the explanations! Could you imagine if Mikasa is able to control a titan? She'd probably wipe all of them out in like a day and a half max! Someone give her a titan.

I love that you guys are watching AOT. I hope at some point you will consider Battlestar Galactica (2003). I think you would find it compelling. It’s much more grounded in day-to-day reality than the name suggests.

I'm absolutely with you on that one, I also prefer dub over sub and got a little disappointed that they weren't doing the dub for AOT because it's really good. Bryce Papenbrook does an amazing job as Eren.
