Noticed with Hulu that the subs put John instead of his actual name Jean.... I would say Crunchyroll has better subtitles.

Jean is French (I believe), pronounced like Zhawn (So Shawn, but with the Zh sound, not the Sh sound.) Calling him John or Shawn works for me though. As for Sasha, I think she got off fairly easy - even if it was JUST a potato. We discussed last episode how 250k people essentially had to be sacrificed because of a food shortage, so stealing food is REALLY bad.

I would suggest switching to Crunchyroll instead of Hulu. The translations are more accurate on Crunchyroll.

But the subtitles calls Erwin....Elvin, Levi as Rivaille, and Hoover is Fubar. lol Also some of the translations are a bit off too. I don't like Netflix or Hulu for subs.

another tip , dont watch all the openings, anime is known to spoil some things in intros, dont know why, better to do a reaction to them at the end of the series or season or something, just a tip

Attack on Titan is so divisive and large in fanbase which is why people keep trying to tell you guys what to do. that's how good the show is. 🤣 yall are gonna get "well, actually'd" out of existence, but I promise it's worth it ;)

I hope they switch to crunchyroll. Hulu’s subs are bad and they add random pauses/black screens in between scenes. It’s very weird.

Spud girl is my favorite! It's been so long I remember nothing from this show other than a few pivotal moments (I only saw up to maybe halfway through season 2 like 6 years ago) and I forgot about her!

About Sasha (spud girl) and the bread scene, sometimes in anime when something funny happens, they make them with exaggerated expressions or actions, like red eyes and eating like an animal hehe, she was really hungry thats all :D

The dub on that is actually pretty good too. So it’s fine. Which ever version they watch will hit harder when they get to that scene.

there are few Dubs that match up too subs and even fewer that do better than subs so it's great you are trying to get into subs. However if you feel you want to try dub AOT is up there with one of the Dubs that keeps up with the Sub

This Anime is something you will enjoy, btw something to keep in mind is that the WALLS are separated by miles and miles so those in the inner walls don't compare to those in the outerwalls

I really hope you guys keep the sub. It honestly surprises me people are saying for the dub at all, I mean the attack on titan dub isn't the worst out there by any means, but at least in my opinion it doesn't compare to the original, especially in the most emotional moments. Especially for your first time watching it too.

Never clicked on a Patreon vid so fast in my life! I just love seeing yalls faces as you try to make sense of what's happening and just taking it all in. Also, def think you guys should have Mods checking for spoilers. I know this community is extremely kind and helpful, but I also know that sometimes when trying to be helpful we are unintentionally sharing something that might be considered a spoiler. Trust me, its really hard to not answers yalls questions cuz I want to "help" too lol but I know to just let you guys go through the motions and it'll all come together in the end. I agree, while watching it on Hulu they misspelled an important name in the subtitles. I was like “who the fuck is that” Keeping it vague because I don’t want to spoil anything even though it’s just a name.

For sure, stick with sub. I’m not a dub hater but it’s also not the same, like Oak said in the first two episodes, you feel the emotion the original VA bring into this show. It’s just completely different. I understand also that you guys will miss some stuff but most of the time that’s what this show is, you miss something but it comes into play later on, like a light bulb going off in your head.

I don't think you're missing anything if you watch it in dub. I havent watched it in sub other than reactions but I prefer it in Dub Personally. The comedy though is best perceived in Dub, the potato girl would've been nice to see in english. ..anyway prefer Dub
