I definitely recommend watching the newer Johnny Depp version. It's not nearly as creepy or "adult" as the Gene Wilder version and I think it captures so much more of the childlike wonder and hope that the book had. It's also just closer to the book in general. This version is a classic, but the Johnny Depp version is definitely better.

It was great to re watch this before I see the new one. I'd also love to see you guys react to James and the Giant Peach 1996
