I don't know how fast the channel train goes, but I do know this: It's TOO FAST for a helicopter! That's one of the frequently-commented "goofs" for the climax, that the helicopter they chose for the scene wouldn't have been able to catch up to the train at all. Henry Czerny (Kittridge) does have a very villainous look to him, they obviously want you to suspect him from the beginning. Another great film with him is "Ready or Not", which is a COMPLETELY different style and genre, but for me is his biggest role after this one.
