I knew you guys would like probending. They can make a whole series surrounding probending. I think I heard a rumor that that might be the case, idk if it's a comic or new series but there's precedent in popular sports anime.

Korra is 17 when the show begins; Aang was 12 during his run.

Great reaction! Glad you guys are enjoying the ride. Force the issue, and I'd have to say I like A;TLA more, but really I love this show just as much. They're just very different shows in terms of tone and focus. Without getting into spoilers, I will say though, season two is pretty much trash -- the worst season across either show by far, other than a couple stand-out great episodes in there. But it didn't spoil the series as a whole for me, and I'm glad because it's a wonderful show overall.

Great reaction, I couldn’t wait until you met the brothers and saw pro-bending! They are brothers, they just have 2 different bending parents! Happens a lot more “these days” in Korra bc it’s not as divided among nations as the past. Also, this just dawned on me watching the reaction with you, but Korra was found to be the Avatar, and they still let her play. I thought back to when Aang wasn’t allowed to play bc they found out he was the Avatar, and thought it would be unfair, so it’s like he got his redemption through Korra, and got to play! Can’t wait for episode 4 and on, let’s go!!!

This is my view. If you force me to choose between them, I have to concede that A:TLA is the superior show. But that's NOT to say that Korra is bad. It's just _not quite as great_. I agree that Season 2 is the weakest one - but on the whole the entire series is solid. And I maintain that some of the questions that Korra explores are *more* compelling than those of Airbender.

SO excited for u guys to watch this series!

Great to be watching Korra for the first time too ! Agree with Oak that Episode 2 talks about different ways of learning. I like how the episode explores the situation - taking the viewer to see both the teacher's and the student's experiences and perspectives. My interpretation is that Tenzin, with his methods supported by ( maybe hundreds or thousands of ? ) years of tradition, unfortunately failed to understand that his own methods were actually very limited, and that Korra really needed to use Korra's own methods. I like how Tenzin eventually did realize this. I wish more of that happened in my own schooling experiences. I have definitely encountered school teachers & staff who were not understanding of individual needs !

not sure if you know already but there isnt any airbenders in pro bending because they were wiped out in TLA by the fire nations, tenzins family is the only airbenders in existence
