The film successfully captures the essence of the original "Scream" while introducing fresh twists and surprises. This blends horror and comedy, offering plenty of scares and witty dialogue that keeps the audience engaged throughout. Neve Campbell delivers another strong performance as Sidney, portraying her character's resilience and vulnerability with great depth.

The supporting cast is equally impressive, with returning favorites like Courteney Cox as reporter Gale Weathers and David Arquette as Deputy Dewey Riley. Their chemistry and familiarity with the franchise add to the overall charm of the film. The addition of new characters, portrayed by talented actors such as Parker Posey and Scott Foley, brings a fresh dynamic to the story and keeps viewers guessing about who could be behind the mask.

One notable aspect of "Scream 3" is its exploration of the dark side of Hollywood. The film cleverly satirizes the industry's obsession with sequels, reboots, and exploitative filmmaking practices. It presents a meta-narrative that not only entertains but also provides a commentary on the state of the horror genre itself.

Visually, the film maintains the signature style established in the previous installments, with suspenseful and well-crafted scenes that build tension effectively. Wes Craven's direction shines through, showcasing his mastery in creating suspenseful sequences and delivering satisfying payoffs.

Scream 3 it remains an enjoyable and entertaining addition to the franchise. It keeps you guessing until the very end, delivering unexpected twists and revelations that end up being highly entertaining.

Glad you enjoyed this one! Scream 3 is one my guilty pleasures, definitely not a fan favourite but there’s a lot to enjoy here!

So I agree with the Answer, it is much better than I remember. I do remember liking this movie but 2 was always my favorite. Part of this is because the movie is all over the place for the following two reasons: 1) Originally, Stu survived the tv to the face and this movie was supposed to be about him leading a cult. His cameo in Scream 2 was planned to give this credence as well as show that he was a student alongside Sidney the entire time. Mathew confirmed this in a 2009 (I think) interview. But then Columbine happened and they scrapped the storyline because they didn't want high school violence to be associated with this film. So currently, we don't know if Stu is alive, but I do hope they explore this in future movies (I haven't seen 5 or 6, waiting to watch with you guys). 2) It was set up for us to think Patrick Dempsey (the cop) was the killer...because he originally was. He was intended to be our killer then halfway through filming, the writers changed the script yet again. That's why all the obvious clues don't make much sense/seem pointless by the end. Melissa's line about another rewrite I believe was also a nod to this because they did a ton of rewrites for this movie. That said, I do still enjoy the movie, it just wasn't 100% a fitting end for the original trilogy. I do like Sydney no longer being afraid at the end. That worked really well and was always my favorite part of the entire movie. That said, I'd still close the door just because. Random fun fact about Courtney Cox's infamous bangs! No one, not even the actress enjoyed those. She later said that her on-set hair stylist decided to give them to her literally moments before they started filming. It wasn't approved or suggested by anyone.

I feel like 3 is better than 2 personally.

Can't wait for you guys to see 4,5,6! My top three personal favorites of the franchise. The brutality is definitely enhanced and the direction that they take the story is top tier. Great reaction guys! Just as a little insight, in 2011 when Scream 4 came out, it was intended to be the start of a new trilogy. So it would've been 4,5,6. However, Wes Craven was very sick and sadly passed away due to brain cancer. So the vision never came to light fully:( But then in 2020, Radio Silence, a team of directors and writers, took on the franchise and did an exceptional job! Paid huge respect and love to Wes and the franchise while also taking it in their own direction with Scream 2022 and Scream VI (Scream 5 and 6).

Watching old school David Arquette, I feel like "Ready to Rumble" would be a perfect fit for a watch.

Sid's house in this movie is available on Vrbo or AirBNB.

The fourth is my least favorite in the franchise but I hope your reactions make it much better. 5, 6 and 7 are supposed to be a new trilogy so I can't wait to see how the rules from this translate to 7 when it comes out next year.

I have always enjoyed this one, yes it's not as good as the first two but it's still a lot of fun. I really appreciate some of the more creepier imagery with Sydney's mom and really enjoyed that we dived into her past and learn how she became so promiscuous and it is really sad, she left home to become a star and completely lost her innocence. I love that they went with the one killer route then going with two. There were suppose to be two but it was changed, the script like in 2 was changed a few times which makes Jenny's line when she's complaining about another re-write so funny. Roman is not my favorite ghostface but he does have one of my favorite motives and now knowing that he was the one that told Billy about the affair and encouraged him completely puts a new perspective to the original. You can see now how Billy became so crazy, it most likely wasn't just finding out about the affair but having to see it and you could also say that he was purposely trying to kill Stu but not wanting him to think that's what he was doing. And Roman is probably the only ghostface that I do feel empathy for. His story is sad, he finally finds his mother, wanting a relationship with her and she turns him away and denies him, I know it was traumatic for her but that wasn't his fault and didn't deserve that. I really appreciate that they give Sydney and Roman a moment when they hold hands when he's dying, for the slim second they were real siblings and sad they never got to be.

I can’t wait till u guys watch scream 4. That movie is so much better than any of the other sequels and satirizes influxes culture itself before influencing was a thing.
