Perfect way to start my day off!! LETS GO!

Stephanie Bedworth

I'll have to wait for lunch but I'm right chuffed, as my British husband would say.

Josip Buretic

Let's do this guys! Been waiting for you so we can watch it together.

Alyssa Dyson

Father Paul wasn't a "Vampire" until he died last episode. Im pretty sure it was Bev who poisoned him because she believed he was a prophet or something and he would be resurrected.. but I dont think it was ever confirmed.

Josip Buretic

Agreed, but I am so f..... mad right now 😣 I really liked Riley and I didn't like "father Paul" from the beginning and I don't like him now even more 🤬 and Bev is devil....

Josip Buretic

Yes that is true!! The scene with Riley and Erin was something else they both were amazing

Rockstar

It's a good show, enjouyed it a lot. But I can't help but laugh at the monolouge in this one. I tolerate some others that I feel pulls me out of it. But in this episode, we get a long one right after a long one. I just couldn't help but find it comical. Again, I like the show, don't panic, I'm in still part of the hive mind ;D

I love that Diamond Dave mentioned True Blood, I watched it in my teen Twilight era and it so was insane in comparison lol. Definitely similar vibes though with humans drinking vampire blood, that show was my first exposure to that lore. I teared up again listening to Erin talk about the afterlife she imagined for her daughter, I found it really comforting. I saw a look when she said the baby grows up in the blink of an eye, and growing up in a Christian church I believe it's said that in Heaven everyone will be at their physical peak. So I remember hearing about 33, which is how old they believe Jesus was when he left. So thinking about that and the parallels of what the blood is doing to people and how young Father Paul is now, is so interesting like Flanagan really mapped it all out. It also goes to show why Father Paul believes it's an angel, not to mention their descriptions that angels in the Bible sound terrifying. I also just found out there's a running joke about how every time an angel appears to someone in the Bible they start by saying "Fear not!" lol. Anyway, loved the reactions and I really enjoyed seeing y'all react to that last scene lol.

perfect way to celebrate my birthday 😎 excited to watch!

As other people said, Bev saw the photo of Pruitt and made the connection between all the “miracles” and Father Paul being Pruitt. Bev didn’t poison Father Paul just for the fun of it, she just wanted to confirm that he was a heavenly being but mistakenly think he’s god reincarnated or something (just as Father Paul believes the thing is an angel) It’s crazy how blind you can be when you want something to be true and when you’re so entrenched in your belief, because sir, this creature is not an angel, are you alright 💀💀💀

Stephanie

I was about to write something similar. Bev poisoned him to prove the major and his wife that father Paul is special, a prophet like you said, and would be resurrected. Maybe the guys come to the conclusion when they see what Bev's gonna do in the church in episode 6.😉

L AH

Also, it seemed like Father Paul did become like the creature (not sure how to call it haha) because he died after being poisoned by Bev whereas the others seem to only be reaping the benefits of the blood

You guys crack me up 🤣 I jumped at the end too haha

At the beginning Oak is Bev, "Protect Father Paul at all cost!" Then Joe Capri Sun happens lol 👀🤣 Oak, I don't think your inferences are negated because of what we saw this episode. 1)Father Paul may be turned now but we DID see him die last episode - Bev could have poisoned him, who knows. 2) In this world the mythology of vamps may exist because of creatures like this "Angel." Think of vamps in this show from a context of theology. Your thought of Paul being a revelation and resurrected is exactly what Paul thinks, that leads me to #3.. 3) Keep in mind Father Paul is not evil, he is a good, faithful man whose actions are evil in the name of God, that's different. Still EVIL lol but he truly believes he has been given a gift from God .. In the rec center to Riley he says, " We must trust in the Lord and not rely on our own insights. Don't presume to know the reason. It's ok to say why? Why?! I don't understand." It's his inner moral struggle with what's happening; he's sort of gaslighting himself to believe this is okay because it's "a gift from God." You can still like him, I do! 😅 Cheers guys! I wish I could binge these, your reactions are SO good!

I’ll have evidence to support the bev did not poison him that’ll have to wait till 2nd to last episode

MJ Eid

guys dont forget father "paul" was in the sun the first 3 episodes!

TinCan Cosmanaut

Don’t worry guys this show sticks the landing. Which is why I watched along for Hill house but not Bly.. no h8 I know ppl like it too. Just not as well done. Flanagan said Mass was his favorite.

The idea that Bev poisoned Father Paul is a very popular fan theory, with some even going so far as to suggest that perhaps she was poisoning him before he left on his holy trip because it gave her power over the church and town. However, the show creators have said this is not the case. Regardless, Bev is still a horrible and terrifying character that we love to hate!

what a ride. can't wait to watch the next episode with you next week!

stephanie

mason just staring at the screen and describing whats happening to joes head while oak n dave are struggling to look and cringing is so funny to me 😂😂 this show is so weird BUT good, still confused on why the father still thinks that ugly things an angel but ok! and is it wrong for me to still like him 🥲 his acting is just too good.

Josip Buretic

Yes that thing looked to me from beginning like devil😈 and not angel😇 Hmmmm if you like the actor then it is all good because he is really good I also like his acting, but when we are talking about father Paul or Monsignor Pruitt then 🤨 🤣🤣

Angelica

Interesting theory about her poisoning him before he left on his pilgrimage. But his symptoms were more aligned with dementia or Alzheimer’s and not with being poisoned. Those symptoms were more apparent in episode 3, where he was vomiting, feeling dizzy and ultimately died….it looked very similar to how Joe’s dog died, and we know THAT was all Bev’s doing. 🤔 🤔

bits

No you can like him!! I love him, he's a great, interesting character. Imo as of this episode, he is a good man doing evil deeds. "The road to hell is paved w good intentions" as they say. Paul has for so long seen only gifts from the "Angel": his youth, Liza walking, everyone's health improvement, etc. It's only now that the Angel's gifts are showing evil consequences.

“Beat it, hit the bricks… Bev” hahaha love it! It’s so fun watching this with you guys. I’ve seen it before but it’s a whole new experience watching it with the guys from Badd Medicine.

Mike actually said in an interview that Bev didn't poison him, the blood eventually kills you if you ingest enough- that scene with the poison was just to remind the viewer of how dangerous Bev is, it didn't occur to him until after the show aired that people might take it as Bev poisoning the Father. But he also said that's a valid way to read it, just not what he orinigally intended to convey

Ginster

I cannot believe that the biggest act of faith portrayed here was you guys actually holding out hope that Bev was gonna save the day :D

Tmatts

Niselle has it right. I feel like 95% of people that watch get this completely wrong. It's partially the show's fault, but it should make sense given how quickly the poison was shown to work, and yet Paul was having coughing fits for awhile. So it wasn't the poison, it was something slowly killing him.

Tmatts

As far as thinking the "ugly" thing is an angel. The bible has some really gnarly imagery, and angels are not always depicted as angelic, often they are depicted as terrifying (if that makes sense) I think more than anything, it is a strong representation of the idea that people only see what they want to see. It also is like how far people will be willing to bend evidence to suit what they want the evidence to say. Also, just in general, people being blinded to the truth by their beliefs.

Love10 ❤️

Not going to lie I'm hurt about the priest being whatever he is. Like I loooooved him and what is he now? A villain? Clearly that is not a damn angel that is a demon or something.

Maggie Barbour

So I know I'm catching up but I did want to point out a cool detail: Father Pruitt was anxiously reciting the prayer "Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom god's love commits me here. Every this day be at my side to light to guard to rule and guide." I think it is the perfect summary of his situation. He was under the impression that the vampire was an Angel, his angel and with his new found strength, felt it dutiful to share his "gifts" to the people on the island ("to whom god's love commits me here"). He then proceeds to yell out for the vampire when it seems gone ("ever this day be at my side...") Fearing that the angel, his guardian angel should be there to help him "light, guard, rule and guide."

Lena

The fact that Bev stepped over his body instead of going around... reveals a lot about her character.
