The Haunting of Hill House 1x7 FULL REACTION

This one was a tad slower compared to the others, but still a good episode with lots of information they dropped here. We see that it is the house doing this to people. Luke taking off to go to the house??? We didn't get any story about Shirl's mystery man. Looking forward to that. And we finally see the red door open. And what a crazy story about Mr. Hill!

Looking forward to chatting with you all.

You are spoiling us with all these drops! And you needn't worry, all of your questions will be answered.

Robert Longstreet’s (Mr. Dudley) monologue is so perfect in this and such a chilling reveal of why the Dudley’s are the way they are. I can’t remember which one of you said it, but he does start smiling too much and I think it lends to his character being uncomfortable with his vulnerability with Hugh in telling him this story, but he feels like he has to tell it. The writers did a great job of making the viewers have mixed feelings about the Dudleys when we first meet them. Are they just religious oddballs or is there something more sinister going on there? And then Mr. Dudley opens up to Hugh and you realize that it’s no wonder he and Mrs. Dudley act the way they do when they’re at Hill House. Again, such a good time watching this with you guys. So looking forward to the last few episodes!

The way they shot Mr. Dudley’s monologue from the long pull to the extreme close up is a work of art, The camera creeps in so slowly some people don't even notice it because of how gripping his story is, the camera shot itself literally mimicking being on the edge of your seat or holding your breath and his expressions and delivery are next level. And his whole point is to respectfully refute being told to mind his own business. His mannerisms are like he's truly afraid to say anything outloud about the negatives of the house, and it feels like it all leads to this encompassing claustrophobic feeling; much like walling yourself up behind bricks Literally a masterpiece. I love the hidden details such as how the dad attacked the red door with a screwdriver and then the house struck back, using the mom putting that same screwdriver at his throat! Some thoughts about the plans that Liv drew, she apparently drew the shape of their 'forever home' over and over again. Almost like she was forcefully turning Hill House into their 'forever home' which definitely seemed to be the intention of the house itself, along with keeping them in the house, by creating black mold and keeping Hugh distracted while it works on Liv. Luke’s eulogy speech will always have me in tears! Also, my favorite hidden ghost is in this episode, I would love to see a reaction from you guys watching a video of all the hidden ghost once you finish the series. Thanks for the surprise upload, we truly don’t deserve you guys! Can’t wait to continue on this journey with the three of you!

Me either! Reading that gave me chills and I’ve seen this show at least 3x’s all the way through.

Its_NattyJ

Same! Am I the only one who keeps checking their feed for the next episode reaction to drop?

gissnav

since you guys missed it, the scene where Hugh is taking the brick out of the wall and goes towards it with the flashlight, in the background you see a lady with long hair creeping behind the wall and watching him and then you see her creeping again hiding in the next scene behind the guy who has his arms crossed. suuuuuuuuper fucking creepy!

Chancey Rae

I know that's the one ghost that I was hoping they would see which is why I hope they react to all the ghosts they missed after the series.

Badd Medicine

That was awesome by Mr. D there! Im sure we missed something lol. Keep the awesome tidbits coming! We appreciate it!

Ekk

If you guys have never seen Mindhunter, that would be an amazing tv show react

Angelina

What a TREAT!! Got home early from work AND a Badd Medicine reaction to watch?! Y’all are amazing 🤩 FANTASTIC reaction 🔥 I know the writers deliberately held back info because they knew audiences would most likely watch 2 episodes at a time and the payoff is tremendous. Thanks for another great one, gents 🤘

The way I see this episode is kind of like entering the eye of the storm. There's the build up in the first six episodes, and then this kind of lulls you back down. As you guys have pointed out, everything in the show is intentional and important. I think this episode creates a slower atmosphere so that there isn't this constant build where it then just becomes stale. Another great video, look forward to continuing the series with you! :)

The "calm before the storm" episode as I like to call it. I can recall just how unnerving and eerie the two scenes of him running towards the red room in slo-mo on top of the little to no audio during that part, and the door finally open, it was to me. Scared me more then ghost mom did honestly for this eps. lol. The goosebumps.

stephanie

we dont deserve u guys, thank uuuuu

Episodes like this really drives my appreciation for reactors because there's no way in hell I couldn't immediately watch the next episode with a cliffhanger like that lol. With that being said, aside from the "Bent Neck Lady" reveal the other moment I've been most anxious for you guys to see is in the NEXT episode 🤗🤗 I can't wait!! Thank you guys for doing what you do!! Yall are AWESOME!!
