This was so lovely! I appreciate the enthusiasm (the butterbeer! the merch!) and insights. What a journey watching these movies has been for you all. I also teared up right along with Oak when he mentioned his father. My dad also passed in 2021. My sincerest condolences on your loss. Thank you all again for putting so much effort into your content! As a longtime Harry Potter fan, I've enjoyed every minute of your reactions and discussions!

The HD is still processing at the time of this post.

One more thing about the Mirror of Erised - part of the reason Ron saw the things he did in the mirror (being quidditch captain, winning the house cup, etc) is because he has grown up being overshadowed by his 5 older brothers, and feels that his younger sister is his mom's favorite child because she always wanted a daughter. So his greatest desire was to stand out and finally get some recognition of his own.

I haven't read the books in a while but I recall someone (probably Ron) mentioning that there are lots of replicas of invisibility cloaks, like "fake or cheap" ones where the ability of making the user invisible wears off with usage. Harry's cloak never wore off so it is assumed that it is Death's cloak of invisibility. Also, it was mentioned even in the movies that the tale is about the Peverell's family, which Harry is a descendant from somewhere in his father's line. In the tale of the three brothers, the third brother gave the cloak to his son and so on...Harry got his cloak from his father...it's safe to say it was the original cloak from the tale :) Oh and there is also this parallel between the three brothers and Harry, Voldemort and Snape. Harry got the cape, Snape never got over the death of the woman he loved (just like the second brother) and Voldemort saught power with the wand just like the eldest brother. Cool stuff. I don't believe Snape is a descendant of the Peverells but Voldemort is distantly related, just like Harry Edit: I just got to the point where you guys talked about the theories and Snape/Voldemort/Harry being the three brothers...🤭 but yeah, I personally don't see it as a theory, more like a parallel, just like Teddy Lupin (Remus and Tonks' baby boy) left an orphan, his parents dying due to the war. Like Harry was left an orphan too. Although this parallel is more clear in the books, Harry being Teddy's godfather just like Sirius was...and man I could go on. 🤣🤣

Which also follows his character later on in the story, where Ron feels like he's just "harry potter's idiot friend" or where we see he has a lot of self esteem issues. How when he finally reaches his goal of being popular, how he basked in it. Or when the Horcruxe's showed his deepest fears and worries were again, being undervalued by his family, friends and the girl he likes.

I wanted to touch on something related to Umbridge. Oak raised the question of whether she was just power hungry or on Voldemort’s side - which is an excellent question because Harry, Ron, and Hermione wondered the same thing in the book. Sirius answered them with one of my favorite quotes of the series (which isn’t maybe as well known as others). He tells them “the world isn’t split into good people and Death Eaters.” I don’t know if it will impact you the way it did me, but I thought that was a really interesting commentary on the different forms evil can take.

Tyta

Thank you so much guys! And, you are now officially a Potterhead ✌️

Jack's World

Can’t wait for the deleted scenes vid :D!

My favorite quote/passage is in the very first book/movie (when Harry leaves Hermione and the injured Ron to go confront Quirrell) because I think it sets the scene for all the books and explains to us what we are about to go through. "Harry -- you're a great wizard, you know." "I'm not as good as you," said Harry, very embarrassed, as she let go of him. "Me!" said Hermione. "Books! And cleverness! There are more important things -- friendship and bravery and -- oh Harry -- be careful!" Hermione the rule follower learned that there are more important things than making good grades and being a teacher's pet. Relaxing a bit, breaking the rules some, and becoming friends (like they all became ride or die friends in the troll situation) is more important in the real world. Until then, Hermione only thought about the school world, and not the dangers happening elsewhere. This is where she realizes that making good grades is fine and wonderful, but there are more important things. Friendship and bravery. It is the defining quality of a Gryffindor.

When will we be getting the deleted scenes video?

Matthew Raab

If you want to see more great fan videos the SuperCarlinBrothers are top notch. The dumbledore's big plan series is one of the best.

Brittany Lewandowski

The large difference between Chamber being released in Nov of 02 and Prisoner not until June of 2004 is because they had to delay the movie to recast Dumbledore.

Boys thanks for letting me be part of your Journey trougth the amazing harry potter World. I really enjoy watching you and learning from your poinst of view. OAK thanks for sharring yours Dad teaching, It really move me and the first thing I told my 8 years daugther today was "never be the do something person...do something" it's a really powerfull teaching. I lost my dad a few years ago so I know how your heart feel, I send you a big hug, Thaks for everything, I Will be waiting for the next videos!!! (If you don't understand something it because i speak spanish)

Anonymous

Another great video idea you guys could do if you're still wanting to talk about Harry Potter in the future, you could listen to the audiobooks and talk about things you guys liked from the books that weren't in the movie. Loved this one though, can't wait for the next!

Ori_gina_lart

What i loved about the end battle was that it took you through all the movies again. When the three ran through the battlefield the first crossed the path of a troll (First movie), then they crossed the big spiders (second movie) then you see lavender on the ground with greyback (Werewolf) over her (third movie). Then you have the dementors arriving at Hogwarts it was a reference to the raid at the quidditch world Cup from what i know ( 4th movie) they get defeated by the guys from the Order of the Phoenix (5th movie) what then allowed them to go on and find Snape the half blood Prince (6th movie). So i really liked that they did that. I hope i wrote that understandable, i'm from Germany and even i understand english perfectly my english writing is not the best XD

Erna Gustiawati

I never think that you guys are meatheads or bullies even when I saw Oak wasnt really invested in the first couple movies, I like you guys reactions. You guys are just like my friends who thought that HP and magic stories were silly until they were hooked. I think this is the rite of passage for some which makes the experience more amazing.

Anonymous

This video is amazing! If you are talking about Potter, you can make a 10 hour video and I would still watch every second. I do like the Rita Skeeter is JKR theory, which is why I was not fond of the the epilogue 19 years later. reading that in 2007, I was like that's 2017! Did the Wizards invent time turners that advance to the future for the writer to know that? For character arcs I'll agree with youtube comments and say Oak has the best arc in the whole series!

Badd Medicine

Oh the pleasure is ours and thank you! We greatly appreciate the support and are happy to do this🤙

Badd Medicine

Thank you so much! We really do appreciate the support. And that's not a bad idea. Might have to. 🤙

Badd Medicine

Badd Medicine

We greatly appreciate it! Thank you! 😁🤘We probably could've went another 2 hours lol

Meghan Renee

Watching you guys enjoy this series has been an awesome ride you gentlemen really have a good chemistry working with each other. Now yall need to go to hogwarts in flordia!

Meghan Renee

Also I would love a round table part 2

Meghan Renee

I want to see ALL THE FAN THEORIESSSS

I thought you guys are very well-spoken and show emotional intelligence, never thought of you guys as brainless jocks. Even if Oak didn't like the first two movies, I'm so glad he started being a fan at movies 4 & 5. For me my favourite movie is by far 3 because the cinematography was so different from the other two and the twists were so smartly written. I'm glad I got to learn more about you guys and how you resonated with the movie. Harry Potter had a huge impact on me when I was a young teen and I remember I cried while reading whole hours when Sirius and Dumbledore died.

Anonymous

2:19:55 Omg, you got emotional rewatching the first movie and seeing again the mirror scene with a better understanding of the story. So glad to see it moved Oak emotionally ^^

Celine

Can we please get the self created fan theories by the oak? I would love to see it! 8 hours is nothing haha

Melanie P

Also, I am going to want a video discussing the audiobooks, things left out, changes made, things they had to change, because they omitted info in previous movies, etc. i love book reviews of these books. I can put in my earbuds and paint my new house or clean or whatever. I like time travel in movies/books when it is handled logically and consistently. Rowling did an amazing job fleshing out how her time travel was going to work. The only thing that pops up in my mind is this: why would you give a 13 yr old girl the ability to time travel? And one thing about the tools they have in this world, the invisibility cloak - in the movies, harry hardly uses it and he leaves it laying around sometimes. In the book, he uses it all the time. In book 6, dumbledore asked him to keep it on him at all times, even while in school. It should be in his bag at all times. So it always bothered that in the movie they rarely use it. It is so prevalent in the books... i know why they cut alot of it: having your main characters invisible all the time is not riveting movie making. But they have done it where they show the scene from harry’s perspective under the cloak. Just thoughts i had. The magical objects feel kind of like a plot device as opposed to an integral part of the narrative

Melanie P

My mom always told me that asking someone out is incredibly difficult and that i should give any boy that had the balls to ask me out. There are obviously exceptions... but if a guy that you aren’t necessarily attracted to asks you out, he has put himself out on a limb and he deserves a chance. He might be the best guy you’ve ever met. I don’t ask men out. I think it’s a traditionally male action, so if I’m not going to ask them out and they gather the courage to ask you, give them a chance. That was a little rambling but it really stuck with me. Another of my mom’s infamous saying “only boring people get bored... i can find something to occupy your time”. That was a threat of chores, etc so I don’t ever get bored.

Melanie P

I’m so sorry you lost your dad. I lost mine in january. Everyday is hard.

Maria

I was gonna comment this too, it's such a brilliant series! Their whole channel is a treasure chest of HP-content.

Maria

Totally get that there wasn’t enough time for the audio books! If you do plan on listening to them down the line, it would be so fun if you discussed the differences book by book (or, when they get really long, some chapters at a time). But very understandable if you’d rather just enjoy them in your own time. :)

Like the sneakoscope thing, that they think are broken but actually warned them about Scabbers, there are just soo many layers to discover when reading with the whole story fresh in mind. I still discover new things when I reread them today. About the games - I remember well when Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone came out on PS1 (I was 6). I actually played the game before reading the book or watching the movie! It ended up selling super well, and sits comfortably in top ten most sold ps1 games ever. I still sometimes go back and play it on my old console.

Really appreciate all of you sharing some of your background and experiences. I relate to not fitting into one group in school, (I didn’t drink either) but instead hanging out with many different people. :)

And lastly, I just had to say I got second hand starstruck (if that’s a thing) when oak said you work for Arnold, I’m a massive fan haha.

Anonymous

Don't worry Oak. If the guys won't sit with you through your eight hour video of Harry Potter fan theories, I'll guest host with you lol. In all seriousness, this journey has been so much fun to go on with you guys and this round table was a great watch! I hope to see one of you get Gryffindor in the sorting hat quiz and join my house and what is the obviously the superior house. Anyone who says otherwise is just jealous lol. Look forward to your future videos and content!

Anonymous

Ya, if you'd rather be brawny than brainy! Slytherin is clearly superior!

Anonymous

He guys there is a podcast call potterless and the guy read the books and talk abouit it is really good, algo you can see supercarling brothers they have really good teories and explenations about harry potter!!!

TheGeekymuffin73

Watch Supercarlingbrothers on YouTube, specifically a video about Dumbledore’s Horcrux.

Angelina

Definitely check out the audio book of Cursed Child or the play for some continuation! Not the best, but some great moments.

RedactedRaptor

So excited to be back....seems I missed a bit, now that I've got internet back, it's time to catch up. Can't wait for what coming up. Missed ya guys, haha. And fellow patreon members.

Anonymous

I don’t know if they do this in America but here in England they still show it in the cinema sometimes and it’s great to actually watch them in that setting

Lena Herbert

Every year around like Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's time, ABC and SciFy, I think, they do a Harry Potter marathon on TV pretty continuously for weeks. It's significant because like only three big cable networks, ABC in particular, have exclusive rights to the extended editions of movies 3-8. Just an fyi! Also I would love to see a kind of a round table part 2 after all of you read the books because, believe me, you will have sooooo much more information and stuff to talk about. I love that you guys got to see these completely fresh and these videos are the reason I joined Patreon at all, but it kind of hurts me how much information you guys are missing out on. Keep it up!

Anonymous

Omg you watched MovieFlame?? I’m impressed .. I love that guy

Anonymous

Movie flame is amazing! I think you will have a blast watching the theories Supercarlinbros have! They always have tons of reasoning to back up their theories and it is so fun to watch!

Mae

Something to add about Peter Pettigrew! He looks like a rat bc he’s spent too long in his rat form, while in hiding. He was never handsome, but you can see in Order of the Phoenix that he’s changed significantly, when Sirius shows Harry the photo of the Order during the First Wizarding War! Also, you could maybeee guess there was something up with Scabbers in the scene where Harry uses the map to seek out Peter Pettigrew. It looks like the map doesn’t work bc no one is there, but if you listen, you can hear little feet scurrying before Snape arrives.

Anonymous

Something I've learned over the years (and many others have made this point as well) is to treat the movies and books as different entities. For example I love the ending of the final battle in the movies as the ending for the movies. I prefer the way it is in the books and I would have LOVED to see Daniel and Ralph do that, but there was too much cut out from the books for it to really make sense. Also, POA will always be my favourite of the movie series. I had just turned 11 when it came out in theatres and it's one of the last happy memories I have with my dad before he passed as he was one of the chaperones on a field trip we took to see it.

Anonymous

Also something that isn't mentioned in the movie is that by going into the forest and allowing himself to be killed, and because Voldemort gave him the choice to do so, he did for the others what his mother did for him and gave them protection. Not as strong as Lily did for Harry, but it was enough. You see it more in the book.

Shiby23

Still gotta say WTF Fred and George! They had the Muraders map for at least a year and CLEARLY Peter Petigrew was sleeping with/near Ron. They should've had a WTF moment, perhaps just a plot hole. Maybe its described in the books somehow.

Anonymous

I appreciate the fact you guys took so much time to do this round table. I had a good laugh at the love-hate relationship you all had with the length. I'd listen to you guys till you're exhausted. You all are amazing and I really enjoyed all of the round table. Oak, I am so glad you found these movies, as they seemed to have helped open you up and spoken to you on so many levels.

Badd Medicine

Haha thank you Melissa! We definitely try to not over stay our welcome 😁 we appreciate the kind words here. Thank you!

Halestar

Super late to this but fun fact about the Mirror of Erised: Erised is desire spelled backwards! The mirror shows you what you most desire. So many fun little details like that throughout the whole series. Amazing analysis and discussion. I really enjoyed the whole journey you all went on with this series.
