Hello everyone!

After a quick break from GMTK, I'm back with a stonking great big video. This one's on the heads-up display, or HUD - and how they can change how a game works, feels, looks, and is made. I hope you dig the style - it's supposed to look like Adobe Photoshop!

If you caught the $5 early access video, you might notice that one small section (talking about Mini Metro and Animal Crossing) has disappeared. This is for two reasons: 1) it didn't quite fit the rest of the video (it's not really about the HUD) and 2) the info is better suited in an upcoming video I'm working on. So gone, but not forever!

Also, I'm experimenting with some advertising in this video. At the end of the video, between the main content and the Patreon credits, I've popped in a YouTube advert. The idea being that you don't have to sit through ads before or during the video, but if you watched the whole thing and enjoyed it you can support the channel by watching an ad. Just a one-off experiment at this point to see what happens, I'll let you know before I do anything permanent on the channel.

Anyhoo - plenty more content coming. Hope you have a good weekend!

Cool editing in this one! And I dig the Dirty Harry reference, too.

I see Persona 5 in the thumbnail and I click! (Although I would've clicked anyway)

I always love the visual stylings on GMTK episodes (in fact it was a big part of what encouraged me to try video-editing myself), but the Photoshop style on this one definitely stood out as one of my favourites. Such a simple idea, perfectly executed, and so fitting to the topic. Great work!
