Hello everybody!

Haven't done one of these for a while. This is a video tutorial on an effect I've used a few times on GMTK: turning pages. Most recently, I used it in the video about Playing Past Your Mistakes, to show a passage in the Elder Scrolls 2 manual.

For this tutorial I'm using a built-in effect in After Effects, and then using Premiere to composite things together.

As ever, there are probably far smarter, better, and quicker ways to do this but this works for me!

Hope it's of some help to any video editors who support me on here. As always, tutorials like this are only for Patrons as a way of saying thank you!

Cheers

Love all the effects in your vids. Thanks for publishing these!

Cool. I didn't know AE had a page turn function. You know what's sad? I just watched your Playing Past Your Mistakes video and did not remember seeing this effect. We're all just so used to fancy graphics these days. As a YouTuber myself I tend to put in all this extra work into similar stuff just because I feel like it adds that magical "production quality". But I really wonder if anyone notices. :( They probably do subconsciously. I hope.

As someone who has put a lot of time into video editing to prepare to start making video essays, this was awesome. You do a lot of cool effects and I wonder how you do them
