Thanks for your votes. Our next GameClub game is Ori and the Blind Forest.
But first - let me just say that I do hear and appreciate your feedback about famous games getting picked over less well-known experiences.
To address this right now, I will open up bonus Discord channels for the runners ups, OneShot and Flame in the Flood, for those who would like to play that game and chat with others.
To address this in the future I will be more careful about picking games of a similar popularity, and reduce the number of choices to three.

Okay! So, Ori and the Blind Forest is a free-flowing platformer game with a Metroidvania structure. I think we'll able to chat about its level design, its controls, its combat, possible design bloat, hopes and ideas for the sequel, art design, and story.

I'll look into getting the developers in for a chat on Discord, too.

You'll want the Definitive Edition of Ori and the Blind Forest on Steam. It's got some extra content, and you get the original version to boot. The game is also on Xbox One. It's great on both, but I'd recommend a controller for the PC version.

Let's play until July 24th. As always you can chat about the game at any time on Discord, but please be careful with spoilers (both story, and other things people may wish to discover themselves like abilities, locations, and creatures) until the 24th.

I actually just finished and wrote my review on this game a week or so ago. I had my issues with it but overall it was enjoyable.

Not done with the game yet, but I've been doing pretty good with mouse and keyboard (well not really KB, Razer Tartarus). Still, your suggestion on a controller is a good idea; controls are okay with a keyboard but button presses can feel a little "busy" when you're charge jumping, holding onto walls, climbing up and down said walls, dashing, bursting, etc. Either way and absolutely gorgeous game that, after a long play session more than once, I looked up at the clock and it said "holy shit it's 1:30 AM." I'm in love. Thanks for making this your game club suggestion, Mark. :D

If you're thinking about solutions to the issue with the less popular games, perhaps something like the australian voting system can help with the vote for less known titles? http://politicalaustralia.com.au/blog/preferential-vote-explanation-you-cant-waste-your-vote/
