Alright so first, what seems to be holding me back: I'm getting hung up on the sex parts of the game. I don't feel like the methods I'm using so far really does more than just being eye candy, which is pretty dismal considering the amount of work some of them are requiring. I think it's mainly an issue with where and how I'm choosing to put in sex. Either I'm trying to do something that makes me uncomfortable enough to roadblock me (in particular, serious nonconsensual stuff,) or I'm trying to give the player too many choices, and I can't draw or write enough to justify that many choices.

I think I'll try to focus less on incidental sex, and more on being able to add other characters and machines/toys to the ship, and letting the player interact with them in different ways. I'm also going to go with less choices and just straight scenes. Like, the player might choose from a list of options at the beginning, and that'll be all the choices involved. Or there won't be choices, and all the possibilities will just play out in order (skipping ones with disabled kinks.) It'll let me control the flow of things better, and will hopefully be a lot more viable for me, and enjoyable for you guys.

For now though, I think I better just take a semi-break from Rainy Skies and let my battery recharge. I'll still be working on it passively, in the form of setting up the remaining systems (crafting, missions log, etc.), as well as preparing resources like backgrounds and npc art for when I get back to it.

In the meantime though, I'm going to try starting fresh with a new game. Now before you panic, all I'm going to do is make a copy of Rainy Skies, and re-skin it. I'll just jot some points on what it'll entail.

-Fantasy game, so that I can use stock background art instead of having to build my own.

-Not-as-serious storyline, more focus on silly, funny stuff, so that I don't have to think so hard about how to write things and design monsters/npc's. I'll still try to make it so that it makes sense and isn't completely random, but the focus is less on a deep and meaningful plot, and more on just having a fun time.

-Will only use systems already built into Rainy Skies. I might make some modifications to existing systems, but no new stuff. Just what's there. In particular, I'll focus on combat sex mechanics, which I introduced last update.

-Linear dungeon-crawling. No multiple paths. Potentially randomized labyrinths depending on how things go.

-A female protagonist that's designed 'to be abused' and put into embarrassing, lewd situations.

-Weird goofy monsters and bondage/xxx traps that probably wouldn't exist outside of a lewd game, as well as teasing monstergirls.

-Futa sidequests, male lead sidequests, weird transformation sidequests, etc sidequests.

Basically the idea is to streamline everything and make it so that I can focus JUST on making lewds. I really need to put an end to this content drought and push stuff out quickly again, and hopefully this'll give me the fresh start that I need to do that.

I'll also see about pushing out Lust Doll content as well. It'll be easier to get modding going if I'm actively working on it and pushing updates out. And later on, once I've recovered, I'll go back to Rainy Skies and do it better. 

Alright, so that's the plan. I'll send out poll stuff in the next few days. Suffice to say, I couldn't get the breast/nipple play event into the latest update of Rainy Skies, but I will do my best to make it happen for the first release of new game.

I hate to admit it, but honestly I mostly care for the lewd stuff and not so much about a deep story anyway, so I like the sound of the new project. Also I prefer classic fantasy over science fiction. ^-^ I am not sure if starting a new project is the best idea if you already feel overwhelmed, but you are the artist and know best what you need to get back on track. Whatever you decide, I am looking forward to it! And as for Rainy Skies, the plans for some fun contraptions on the ship sound very interesting as well! ^-^

Well, your "simple and fun" stuff as you say has been my favorite kind of content in Lust Doll. So seeing more of that kind of stuff in *Insert New Game Name Here*, and maybe even in *gasp* actual Lust Doll stuff, with the aim of getting the inspiration to produce even more of that same kind of content in Rainy Skies later on? Well, that sounds just win/win for me.
