I often wonder how Hank and Marie would have reacted if Walt had spun a story that emphasized Walt thwarting Gus' attempts to kill Hank, or crashing his car to avoid making Gus kill him, or taking credit for the phone call warning Hank about the ambush. And he could have pretty easily blamed a lot of what happened in season 5 (like killing all the loose ends) on Mike, who could be presumed to still be on the loose. Because for all the evil shit Walt has done, he has legitimately and secretly had Hank's back throughout the show, even if a lot of his actions inadvertently or indirectly put Hank in danger.

I am a huge huge fan of this show. I have watched entire series more than 10 times. I have listened to/watched every interview with the writers and Vince Gilligan. As enjoyable and cool as it is to hear the poem before watching the show It is 100 percent not necessary. I'd even say it only ads to the enjoyment listen to it after you have watched it.
