It's based on the book Fire & Blood, I'm currently reading it. It's basically the history of Targaryen dynasty.

This was a really good opener. The tourney/ labor scene was my favorite. Loved the different types of dragons. Kings Landing looks better than it ever did. About the choice viserys made... It's tough. I don't know what I would've done in his position. Lastly, anybody else see what I did in the Godswood?😏

Viserys wife was an Arryn but her mother was a Targaryen so yes Tasha you're right they were related (incest is icky as hell). The Targaryen's say if you get cut while sitting on the Iron Throne then it's a sign that the throne is rejecting you, letting you know that you don't belong.

The jousting in the books didn't include killing if I'm not mistaking at least not at this tourney. Tre the lady you want to see when she was young is Lady Olenna, she's the one who killed Joffrey. When Viserys was telling his daughter why Aegon conquered the 7 Kingdoms because of the long night to come and that a Targaryen needed to be sitting the throne in order to save the realm, it pissed me off because it made the night King ending much worse because Cersei was on the iron throne when the short night came for the north and the kingdoms were not all united to defeat the Night King so imo it just reminds me of how everything ended up not meaning anything and how Jon's lineage didn't mean shit, he didn't kill the Night King and he didn't become King.

For back then it wasn't really seen as incest to be married to a cousin, niece, or uncle soni actually don't think it's that bad with Aemma and Viserys. But the brother and sister thing is a bit too far.

Uhm, Viserys isn't at fault for the queen's death... She would have died anyway, the maester told him to choose basically cutting her open or losing both anyway. So either way she was dead.
