Conspyramid is from Ken Hite's Night's Black Agents.

Have you read the Corum books (Knight of swords, etc) from Michael Moorcock? Our hero Corum has an angsty time after he is tortured and loses an eye and a hand. They are replaced without his consent with a creepy eye that sees into the dead zone and a creepy hand that does things he doesn't always want. And there's a lot of death involved in those parts. I feel like the D&D guys had read the books and wondered what would happen if the donor of the parts was even MORE evil.

I thought that was the vampyramid, which was a variation on the conspyramid? Or did I imagine that?

I haven't read Corum -- I've read a good amount of Elric, a little bit of Hawkmoon, and some Oswald Bastable, but I think that's about it for Moorcock.
