It's time to start a new monster book! In this episode, we're getting started with the 2nd edition Monstrous Manual, published in 1993.

Finally got around to listening to this episode. There was a questionnare in Dragon magazine during the 2nd edition development asking players about that they wanted to see in the new edition. I can't seem to find a copy online. I seem to recall there being questions about game formats (do you like hardcover or softcover, single book or PHB/DMG), and I believe the binder option was mentioned. Who knows what feedback they got or whether anyone at TSR really weighted those responses.

The data they got from their reader surveys was said to be one of the major advantages TSR had, but of course that's only true if you actually pay attention to it.

I'm not sure they would fit in any three ring binder, because we have a different format from the US.

Those aren't three-ring, though, are they? British binders generally have two or four rings.
