We are back with another The Golden Girls reaction. Today, we are watching Empty Nesters. OMG! RITA MORENO!! This was such a good episode! Thank you Michael for giving me some context to this episode - it would have been a little weird to see a new set of characters out of the blue! I'm so happy I didn't know about Rita, she was a pleasant surprise (as you see from my reaction in this video 😂). This episode was good - we got to see the character of Renee deal with the reality of being an empty nester with husband who's married to his work. This creates a feeling of distance in their relationship, which she tries to address. Unfortunately, her husband is so busy, he doesn't realize his wife wants more of him. Thankfully, her daughter comes home from college after breaking up with her boyfriend which allows Renee to go to New York to show her support. With Renee in New York, her husband finally realizes what she had been asking for and runs to her for a second/first honeymoon! This was a beautiful ending to a sweet episode!
