Hi fam!

Another great episode of Star Trek! I really loved that one. The moral of this episode was that human beings need both the darkness and the light to be whole. You cannot have one without the other. As brilliantly said by Capt. James T. Kirk, "Can half a man live?".

I hope you enjoy this reaction. I can't wait to hear from you!

Xoxo,

Ian Smith

This is one of my personal Top 3 episodes from Season 1. It was written by Richard Matheson, who was one of the greatest science-fiction and horror writers of the 20th century (Gene Roddenberry - Star Trek's creator - pulled out all the stops when he assembled his writing team!) Matheson's story concept is simple, but brilliant. We all have our darker sides; so what would it be like to be split into two, and have to confront them? I'm sure other actors (Patrick Stewart e.g.) would have given more nuanced performances; but you've got to LOVE William Shatners performance :D BTW, you seem to have a soft spot for Sulu. You are SO going to enjoy an upcoming episode! :)

This episode was sooooo good!! No wonder it's one of your faves! Yes, I don't know what it is about him but Sulu has this aura that makes me want to hug him and be his bestie! 🤣
