Near Death Experiences, Aaron Rodgers' Injury, Nostalgia, Multitasking | Constellation, Episode 37

Welcome back to Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast. This week, the Brothers Moriarty are joined by Defining Duke co-hosts MrMattyPlays and Lord Cognito. Colin needs a place to commiserate -- and he finds it here amongst sports fans -- as he comes to grips with his fandom for one of the NFL's most-cursed teams. Can he possibly recover? Meanwhile, in the realm of things far more serious, Cog chronicles a near-death experience he had, and solicits any similar stories from the group. Matty taps into the powerful nostalgia muscles we all seem to share, and wonders how captured we are by the past as opposed to living in the present. Finally, Dagan confronts the entire premise of multitasking. Why can't people just do one thing at a time? It turns out that question is far more profound than you might think at first blush. 2023-09-19 00:45:10 Colin, have you considered maybe once a month a Sacred Symbols+ episode with the focus being in sports? Would love your thoughts on the NFL, NHL, etc. Just a thought, thank you all for your efforts

I don't even like sports or sports talk really, but I think this is a great idea for those that do.

Does anyone know what happened to classic mega man (Rock) story wise? Or it just something we will never know?

Devlin England

Go birds fuck the whiners and cowgirls

I understand the Jets fatalism, at least to some degree, as a Browns fan. I was swiftly punished for my optimism by the game last night.

Tanish Rastogi

Some of the most beautiful conversations, especially Dagan's stories... thanks for sharing.

Back when I worked for gamestop I met both Mark McGrath and Dave Navarro at the hard rock in Vegas when they were doing a promo for I think it was one of the Rock Bands? Dave thanked me for not talking to him in the bathroom earlier as we were the only ones in there but I wasn't going to be a weirdo and try to talk to him while we were pissing lol

I really don't care about sports, but I really enjoyed the conversation about it. It helped me understand the fandom a lot more.

RoughSlpr

I'd like to apologize on behalf of Micah Parsons for what he did to your boi. There's a few teams i'd like to see do well outside of the NFC and the Jets are one of those. Brutal for that fandom, feeling for you guys.

Michael Hedrick

Just wanted to stop in and say FUCK the jets and Mets lol Try being a Raiders fan smh. 2 playoff appearances in 20+ years and 0 wins. At leasy yall have had some semblance of relevancy. Oh just for Cog and Mattie....GO BRAVES BABY!

Sean Hatfield

Guys, come on, crate your dogs at night.

Evan

As a life-long Packers fan and a huge Rodgers fan, I was ready to cheer for the Jets this year. Absolutely brutal outcome. Still can’t believe it. I feel for ya.

Tyler Beekman

Vikings fan here. I feel your pain.

Keith Huntington

i find it... interesting that colin keeps saying "we, we, us, we" when talking about a football team he's never once suited up for. shouldn't it be "they/them"??

Surge!

I found an early 1st grade drawing I made where I had JETS written in the corner of my crudely drawn portrait. Maybe I recognized from an early age that I, much like the team, would not fare well in life. Ha on that note, great episode.
