Good morning all the way from Perth in Australia, love the show. I recall hearing Todd Howard say he’s played most of Starfield on his Series S and it runs great. Do you think this is just a bit of marketing for the Series S? I mainly play on my PS5 but I bought a Series S as a game pass machine. After watching the Starfield direct I’m thinking it might be time for an upgrade. Thanks!

Hey Dukes, This is a Thank You to Matty for recommending Death Note. My gaming opinions tend to be polar opposites to Matty’s. For example, Deathloop is better than Dishonored, Tears of the Kingdom is just a Minecraft clone that doesn’t let you climb when it’s raining, and The Last of Us Part 2 is appropriately-rated. But I’ve been trying to get into anime for a while and nothing has stuck outside of a few Western “anime” like Castlevania and Cyberpunk. I went out on a limb and gave Death Note a try based on Matty’s frequent recommendation. Holy shit that show was amazing! Thanks for flying the flag for a fantastic show when nobody else seems to talk about it. Do you have any other similar anime recommendations for an anime novice? Have a “I want Shinigami eyes but also want to live forever” kind of day.

Greetings Dukes! Just curious to get Cog’s thoughts on the Tekken 8 after participating in the closed network test over the last week! If it releases sometime within the year the game awards fighting game of the year category will justify it’s existence. Thanks!

What’s up dukers! So I read the last Ronin based on Matty’s recommendation and absolutely loved it. Would the both of you please give me another recommendation? (Graphic novel/ comic preferably.) Hard mode: I no not like anime. I understand that is a very broad statement to make but overall it’s not for me. Anyway love the show and have a “I hope Star field gives me a reason to turn on my Xbox” kind of day.

Yo what's up DD. So I'm writing in to ask you guys, what is up with all the beef surrounding 343 and Halo? I went and looked up metacritic scores and the lowest rated 343 one is Halo CE Anniversary with an 82. All the rest are higher in score. So what is the problem? Was it the art style change in Halo 4? Was it the broken mess that was The MCC? Was it the terrible story in Halo 5? What do you guys think? IMO these games are good. Besides MCC being broken at launch and Halo 5 having a bad story, I didn't find anything super bad with these games. I like Halo 4, Halo 5 had good multiplayer despite them abandoning it. Even Halo Infinite is good despite everyone saying it lacked content because it was a live service game. I'm just really tired of everyone hating on Halo these days like it's the worst thing ever. As someone who grew up playing Halo and cried when Halo 3 ended thinking my boy Chief died. I wish Xbox would just rip the band-aid off and reboot the series like COD did with Modern Warfare. As Kylo Ren once said, "Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."

Buongiorno Musical Maestro Matty and Condottiero Cog, hope you boys are doing well. I'm writing in today because I was chatting with some friends and the topic of Xbox got brought up which I was astounded to hear that most of them had not even heard of the Game Pass service. After they had researched a bit into it they were left wondering why this service isn't advertised at all in Italy and it really made me conscious of the complete lack of marketing for Xbox here. Perhaps the key to digging your way out of third place is to actually do some damn advertising. You boys take care! Cheers from Mantua.

Hello fellas This Wednesday kicks off something that is going to be truly special, a public congressional hearing about UFOs. As someone who has never witnessed anything UFO related, I want to believe. Also, as a huge Sci-fi/Space fan, I am extremely excited for Starfield. One weird, but cool reason is because of their tagline for the game. "What's out there?". I just can't wait to explore and do exactly that. Hey Dukes, A slight correction on last week. When you had the discussions around Xbox potentially acquiring Take-2, cog was reeling off the studios under 2K's umbrella and included Gearbox and the Borderlands IP. Gearbox is owned by Embracer group and 2K is the simply the publisher of the IP.

Hey Dukes, Throughout the whole Starfield frame rate discourse, I often saw it mentioned that one of the key USPs of Bethesda games is the interactivity of individual objects. Matty, with this in mind, would you mind deploying your Bethesda expertise to explain what makes this system so crucial to the overall experience? Just asking as Fallout 3 and Oblivion are two of my GOATs but I can’t recall how the object interactivity tangibly added to my enjoyment of either game. I mean, sure my horny teenage ass loved stripping female NPCs in Oblivion and dragging them around, and I also recall a sadistic visit to Three Dog where I sliced him up and put his head in the bin, but that’s about it. Feel like I missed a trick here. Thanks dudes. Have a ‘Matty breaking his teeth trying to titty gobble through power armour’ kind of day.

Hello - I think people are assuming more games will be exclusive than I believe. Here’s my thought process. New IP - Exclusive. Old IP from Doom to Crash to even Elder Scrolls - keep on PS… why? Because the MORE games PS people have to PAY for individually vs an Xbox person getting it for ‘free’ on GamePass the BETTER the value of GamePass. If the games simply are not available as a PS person I could just convince myself I don’t care but having the games there but costing $70 each.. now I’m tempted to get GamePass. Thanks again for the great show! And as always.. play Midnight Suns :)

Sup raven Matty and nineball Cog with the armored core hands off demo have your thoughts changed at all and have you guys have any plans for what kind of build your gonna go for? Ps Matty don't know if you're planning on doing anything for retro rebound for armored core but highly recommend 2,3 and 4 but if you wanna go further the ps1 are pretty good too. Hey Dukes, when it comes to sex in video games, why does it always have to be respectful for it to be ok? Why does it have to be romance or love? We never bat an eyelid when it's violence, nobody says "at least it's justified violence" we murder senselessly in so many different games, what's wrong with having an adult game were we get some no strings attached hot action with some girls, guys (or bears if that's what you're into)? Joking aside, it's funny how sex, a natural thing, is so taboo but the goriest violence is totally fine. Love what you guys do, been here from day one.

Hey Dukes, over the past year, we've had quite a few studios communicating on twitter that Xbox ports of games are being delayed or even not planned, with notable studios such as Larian Studios (Baldur's Gate 3), Microids (Inspector Gadget: MAD Time Party) and recently TeamKill Media. The reasons can vary with no audience, split-screen issues and slower SSDs. This usually creates a lot of controversy on social media and essentially leads to free publicity through engaging console warriors. My question is, do we think the Series X is holding back development and devs are communicating this or is this a marketing strategy? Should studios keep doing this and delay console-specific releases?

What’s good, Daisy Dukes, This is mostly for Matty. I’m itching for a good JRPG series and the talk of the Legend of Heroes series makes it seem like my type of game. I just don’t know if I can do all of them between being an adult with responsibilities. Do I really have to play all of the games to enjoy them? Should I just try out Xenoblade instead? Or something else? Keep up the great work turn based kings and have a “99% chance to hit and you still miss” kind of day.

Hello, lovely Dukes, Remnant 2 has been released, and we have a full fledged UE5 game to analyze. On Series X, The game reportedly renders internally at 720p, per Digital Foundry, and still can’t fully lock in at 60fps in Balanced Mode. The devs themselves say that the game is “designed to be used with upscaling.” Even the beefiest PC rig can’t run the game at high framerates without DLSS or FSR upscaling. Does this bother you at all? Are you worried about an “all upscaling” possible future in video games? Thanks. Love ya.

Hello illustrious Dukes Im writing in today regarding the disappearance of the "realm". Cog, how come you no longer say it's good to be back in the "Realm of the Dukes" anymore? I missed that because it made the podcast and community feel like a special place on the internet. Bring it back sir! But in all seriousness you guys are the best keep up the great work appreciate listening to you while I'm working my monotonous job. Hope you have a we are about to get Starfield, BG3 and Avowed within a 12 month window but now I'm dying of a RPG greatness overdose -kind of day.

Hey Dukes, Just wanted your opinions and thoughts on the breakout success Remnant 2 is having. The first game was a great new ip that sold well enough, think it was like 3ish million, so a sequel wasn’t too shocking. What was shocking was the jump on the steam best selling list from 69 to 2, that’s insane. Think it’s big streamers promoting it, looter players having their home game be in a bad spot, or just all of the above? Curse you Damnable Dukes, First, Cog comes in with the well-deserved hype for Midnight Suns which got me to pick the game up when I was on the fence about it. I am now 50 hours in, and although I have been sidetracked recently, I can't wait to get back to it. Then, Matthew hypes the Trails series up so much while discussing Trails into Reverie that I bought a PSTV and digital versions of Trails in the Sky FC and SC. I am 15 hours into my first Trails game and this game is hitting for me in ways I haven't felt since playing JRPGs back on the PS1 (to the extent that it is pulling me away from FF16, which I have very much been enthralled by) I am a 40 year old man and I do not have time for these massive games, but I am thoroughly enjoying them thanks to your recommendations. I have only started listening to your show these past few months after hearing you guys on a SSxDD episode and although I rarely touch my Series X and have cancelled my GamePass sub (since Microsoft can't seem to manage dev teams out of a wet paper bag let alone to launch a modern game) , I enjoy your content. What up "Arrow to the Knee" Matty and "Sworn to carry your burdens" Cog, I've been downloading and installing (and a lot of bug fixing) Skyrim mods for like 15 hours over 2 days. Although it was time consuming, the final result has been amazing as it feels like a completely new game now. With Starfield fast approaching, I can't wait to experience the Vanilla version but I'm still excited about the possibilities of what the modding scene can do years down the line. I want to ask the Dukes: What are some of your dream mods for Starfield (outside of the Nude mods of course) and what are your expectations for the first year modding experience? How long do you think it will take for console mods to be introduced as well? Have a "Wanting to play Raincode, but Capcom decided to re-release the superior detective/mystery game, Ghost Trick, on its release" kinda day.

Hey, Matty and Cogmeato, I’ve just finished FF16, and as someone who likes to take their time with games, I only have time for one or two more before Starfield releases. That being said, I’ve been thinking about getting into visual novels. I’ve had my eyes on Ace Attorney, Matty’s beloved Danganronpa, and Paranormasight, which was mentioned a while back. Hey Dukes, I have to ask, wtf is Microsoft doing with fallout. Even with the activison acquisition going though fallout is still one of the top 5 IP they own, atleast for console. A remaster of 3 and new Vegas, obsidian working on a another fallout game, these would print money and would manage to bring a traditionally PS player over to Xbox. What is going on with this, we cannot wait until 2030+ to get another fallout.

Dear Dukes, My question regards to Xcloud. It's been 4 years since its inception (beta) and we still haven't seen any tangible big updates to the service. The streams are still in 1080p and a low bitrate while other streaming services have been rocking 4k and high bitrates for a while now. Do you guys expect to see updates to Xcloud anytime soon? And what do think of Xcloud anno 2023 and of cloud gaming in general now that we've had a change to play with it for some years. Is it still the future? Kind Regards, Julian
