Comedian and actor Mike Myers has always been a bit of an enigma. The hilarious Canadian made his bones on Saturday Night Live and drew international acclaim for his Wayne's World skits and films, but it was 1997's James Bond spoof Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery that might be his most famous and most beloved work. Playing both the movie's protagonist (the titular Austin Powers) and antagonist (the amazing Dr. Evil), Myers put in work. After all, he devised all the characters, the story, and even wrote the screenplay. More than two decades (and two sequels) later, does his original '90s-era classic still retain the respect we once held for it? Or should it be fed to sharks with friggin' laser beams attached to their heads? Well, listen to the podcast and find out. Because you're the boss around here... and you need the info.

Austin Powers has the greatest theme of anything ever.

(Completely unrelated) As a Yang, Sanders and a Gabbard liberal can I send a giant FUCK YOU!!!!! to Jason Schreire. His politicaly driven articles are not only biased but they’re dishonest. His video game “information/opinions” were also completely biased and Xbox is making him eat shit right now with all his snarky comments that appear to have been ass backwards. Sorry about that....... but yeah Austin Powers is hilarious!!

Liam Fagan

Shout out to Elizabeth hurley. 12 year old me thought she was... talented....

Kyle Goodrich

I probably watch the first 2 Austin Powers movies every year and have since they came out, they're just so watchable.

Reuben Barrett

This was the first movie I saw at the cinemas where I thought holy moly how did they let me in here to watch this

Carm Pascuzzi

The Swedish made penis larger pumps and me; this sort of thing is my bag baby by Austin Powers

Bryan Finck

Check out Bedazzled, it is a horrible movie, but it is excellent Liz Hurley.

LastStandMedia

There's Something About Mary was that movie for me, which was rated R, and I snuck in. LOL.

Andrew Mendoza

Look up the UFC fight between Joe Son aka Random Task, and Keith Hackney. Spoilers! Hackney WAAAILS on his nuts for half a round. This was the good ol days before there were rules in the UFC. Great episode, per quod fit. ❤️

Hey Colin, will you think about putting a time stamp once you guys start talking about the topic of the episode?

Warped

Hey guys! Have you guys done a Corona Virus topic only yet? The beginning of this was very interesting And I would like to listen to that topic more. Maybe even add what would you do if shit really hit the fan or how do you think this is going to change life outside

FitzIsCoy

hey colin and dagan, just wanted to let you guys know that i really enjoy hearing your life and living updates regarding coronavirus and social distancing. Since I don't get to talk or see much of what is going on outside of my community it is very interesting to hear about how life is in your surrounding neighborhoods. Please keep it up!

Ben Williams

Yes! This would be great, especially for older episodes or someone who joins much later. I'm thinking something like coronavirus might not be relevant.

Ben Williams

Could you put a timestamp where the topic of the show starts? No offense, but I'm enjoying content not talking about coronavirus these days. Just trying to get away from those discussions since they seem to be everywhere. Loving this episode so far!!

Bryan Finck

Amazing episode, loved hearing the lines you and Dagan say to each other all these years, they are the same ones my wife just shakes her head when I say them. Thanks for reading my comment too!

Matthew Cooper

This movie is so great, while I don't quote it much anymore, my friends and I did quote it extensively for years. I don't think it is sexist at all, Austin is just a very sexually aggresive character, hitting on girls and asking them out isn't sexist. Also, I think in the modern woke Austin Powers sequel he would have a lesbian daughter to pass on all of his seduction powers to; sounds pretty good to me, I'd go see it.

LastStandMedia

Nah, but I think it'll be interesting in the future to do an episode about our experience, since it'll be nostalgic in its own way...

LastStandMedia

Thank you very much! I like hearing Dagan's perspective, since my own (as is the case with most of us) is very limited.

Sebastian velez

After this you have to do a knock back on borat !

Will Hahn

Great episode! Love Austin Powers. Colin, I know you aren’t a James Bond fan, but the most recent ones with Daniel Craig are awesome. Especially Casino Royale, which I think you would actually really enjoy. I think you should give it a shot.

Marcus Brown

Elizabeth Hurley... that's it, that's the comment.

2022-01-24 05:12:15 I haven’t seen this in forever but I watched the movies so many times on TV that I can still picture them clearly. I love them. This episode could’ve gone on for double the time and I would’ve enjoyed it. Alison Brie > Elizabeth Hurley > Heather Graham

Austin Powers isn't sexost or predatory. He's constantly trying to get in her pants, but when she's drunk and is DTF he says "No baby, you're drunk, it wouldn't be right" Love those movie and love your show guys.

kevin berger

I had no idea the Soup Nazi was in this movie hahaha.

Kyle Goodrich

"I have several things I'd like to do with Heather Graham involved".. don't we all, Dagan.

Frank G.

Liz Hurley gets that Mojo started baby. Hope you guys do the second one soon.

UK Listener here, is it just me or I'm 100% positive that the scenes with the henchmen family were included in the UK release? anyway great episode and great film :)

Next up: Cat in the Hat

Really surprised to hear the US release doesn't have any of the Rob Lowe/Henchman family scenes. Those were always included in the UK dvd I had and were some of the best moments of the whole movie.
