Patreon tax update (Patreon)

A couple days ago patreon sent me an info about some VAT taxes changes. You should receive this info soon too, but I feel like it will be better if I will post this info too.

The quote: "Patreon already adds sales tax/VAT/GST to pledges from patrons in  most US states and several other countries - anywhere that’s required by  law. They’re now required to start adding tax in a few new places:  Canada (other than Quebec where Patreon already charges QST), Thailand,  Florida, and Kansas."

So, if you are living in one of these areas you should expect that at the 1th of August you will be charged on a slightly bigger amount, from 5 to 7%. If you have been paying 1$ previously it will be about 1$ and 7 cents now. 

If you are from different region and/or already paying VAT in your patreon pledge it won't affect you. If you are from Russia, the tax should be already included.

As I understand that tax is going to you government, not to patreon :)

Previously I have changed setting the way that should help lower the amount of taxes, but I can't say if it will affect the result or not.

It's not a big sum but I believe it does add up if you are supporting multiple people on patreon so I will understand if you will decide to cancel or lower your pledge :)
