Just for funzies, I want to drop this bit of vocab knowledge on ya'll...Flay, and Filet are two different words, although i gotta believe they are related. To filet something is to cut it into pieces. Flaying something means to remove the skin off of something with a sharp instrument. Remember on game of thrones, Ramsey Bolton liked skinning all his enemies, and even peeled skin off of various parts of Theon? Well, the sigil for House Bolton was the Flayed Man...It was pretty much their calling card to do that to their enemies...it's an evil , sick, torturous thing to do, but I digress. So the idea of the Mind Flayer is that it peals your brain apart layer by layer... I'll go shut up now...
