Las Vegas, the city of gambling!

Sergeant Durant chewed his gum and sat on a commuter bus returning from the downtown area to their temporary base.

"Sergeant, the women in Las Vegas are really sexy, it's great to be able to come here!" The several people on the commuter bus were all from the US National Guard's 119 Attack Helicopter Battalion.

Durant smiled but didn't answer.

Despite the hype about the National Guard, their training was just as tough, and their army strength ranked in the top five in the world, and their air force ranked second in the world.

In fact, Americans themselves were more aware than anyone else. Most of those who joined the National Guard were either well-connected or simply trying to evade national conscription.

In the United States, being a soldier was a high-risk occupation. The country was involved in many foreign wars, with small battles every year. Although their equipment was advanced, people would still die after fighting. What was worse was that they made too many enemies, and terrorist attacks causing deaths were something Americans found very difficult to accept.

After the Vietnam War, faced with more and more young people refusing to serve in the military, the US government was forced to implement the all-volunteer military in 1973, also known as the National Defense Recruitment System. However, even with the promise of generous rewards, they still couldn't recruit enough quality soldiers. As a result, the Americans had to turn their attention to illegal immigrants, even throwing out the promise of green cards for military service.

Despite this, there was still a shortage of high-quality soldiers in the US every year. Therefore, behind the widely known recruitment system, the National Conscription Office continued to operate another government military registration system, also known as forced conscription.

The US regular army was different from other countries. They operated a large number of military bases overseas, and most new recruits had to serve overseas as well. If they were lucky, they might be assigned to a peaceful place, but there was a high chance they would be sent directly to the Middle East. This led to some young people who met the requirements of the government's military registration system to pay money or use their connections to join the National Guard. This way, they could serve domestically and have an easier training.

Like Sergeant Durant and his team, they were assigned by the state government to Las Vegas. Their base was still expanding, and they hadn't been assigned any tasks recently. So they had plenty of opportunities to relax outside.

For example, they spent a whole day in the downtown area of Las Vegas. As they were about to return to their base, Durant, who was bored and staring at the sky, unexpectedly caught a glimpse of a light passing by.

At first, he thought it was an illusion, but when he blinked, he suddenly realized that the light was getting bigger and bigger. He couldn't help but exclaim, "Huh, there seems to be something in the sky!"

Before the others on the bus could react, the light in the sky had already become two dark blue clusters, flying towards their base not far away.

"Boom..."

"Boom..."

The next moment, accompanied by two deafening explosions, Durant and his team felt a wave of heat hit them. Looking at the base not far away, two mushroom clouds rose into the sky.

This temporary base on the outskirts of Las Vegas had encountered attack!

"We're screwed, quickly...quickly get back to the base..."

Durant had swallowed the gum in his mouth in panic. But he didn't have time to worry about that now. He looked at the base that had been attacked not far away and quickly ordered the driver to speed up and return.

"Sergeant...look quickly..."

A desperate voice came from Private Busters next to him. Still in shock, Durant instinctively followed his finger and looked up at the sky.

His eyes immediately became dull.

In the sky, the two dark blue clusters had become larger and larger. Judging by their trajectory, their target was still their base.

But it wasn't over yet. As more and more blue explosions came from the sky, the constant sound of explosions continued to come from the direction of the base.

The commuters on the vehicle were completely stunned, still able to feel the heat waves brought by the explosions from such a distance. The power of the explosions could be imagined.

In an instant, everyone knew what was happening.

The base was finished!

...

"Boom!"

Falling heavily from mid-air, Sun Cheng raised his hand and used the rapid-fire machine gun protruding from the palm of his hand to take out a few American soldiers who were still trying to shoot at him from a distance. After he confirmed that all resistance had been eliminated, he finally stopped there and released two groups of advanced insect scouts to investigate the direction of the nearby Hoover Dam, while waiting for the arrival of Forerunner and Onslaught.

"Master..."

Soon after, Forerunner in beast form arrived here and rendezvoused with Sun Cheng.

Sun Cheng nodded slightly without saying much. About a few minutes later, the ultra-heavy truck form of Onslaught finally arrived. His speed was even slower than Forerunner's, but this was not surprising. With his mechanical body, including the railgun, he was probably over a hundred tons in weight, so his speed was naturally slower than theirs.

"Onslaught, the perimeter has been cleared. The All Spark is in the base there!"

Seeing that Onslaught did not transform back into his human form after stopping, Sun Cheng pointed to the nearby Hoover Dam and reminded him.

As he spoke, the advanced insect scouts he had released had already provided a lot of data.

After processing for a while with his eyes closed, Sun Cheng frowned slightly, "The base has installed many strong electromagnetic jammers, and my scouts can't get close. So I don't know what the situation is inside the base!"

"Just go in and attack!"

Onslaught grinned and showed a ferocious smile.

Sun Cheng could tell that he was very excited at this moment.

But this was not surprising. Just think about how long the All Spark had been missing. In order to find it, Megatron had dispatched hundreds of elite warriors to search every corner of the Milky Way. Onslaught was one of them.

And now, he was about to find the All Spark, and the chance for evolution was just around the corner. It was no wonder he was so excited.

Sun Cheng nodded and was about to tell him that there should be a passage nearby that could accommodate his large size, but he didn't expect that the already excited Onslaught had already summoned his long spear and fired more than ten shots at the dense transmission network and units outside the dam before rushing to the nearby cliff and jumping down first.

"What should we do, Master..."

Forerunner stepped forward and asked. With his intelligence, he had obviously seen that Sun Cheng and Onslaught were not as harmonious as they seemed.

"Wait for me outside, try not to expose yourself, and if you find any human support arriving, remember to notify me!"

"Yes!"

After giving him a few instructions and letting Forerunner hide nearby, Sun Cheng followed Onslaught and jumped down from the cliff.
