Hi,

today was a quite productive day. Finished up Seraphine's favour system & initial animation (Flashback to Princess Tower...) and Khelara's anims as well.

While cleaning up the item database I tied in some items for those who have everything :)
The Voron Hyperdrive allows 1h Hyperjumps (no, it does not do the Kessel Run in less than 5 Parsecs...) and Hyperspace Beacons for point to point Hyperjumps (the latter will be activated in V1.10).

Had to post those screens quickly...

Some feedback on Seraphine- I think one of the reason this game works so well is that the characters have a sensible, authentic character arc, but unfortunately this doesnt seem to apply to Seraphine. The princess storyline feels a bit weak, and it feels as if its been jammed into an otherwise cogent and compelling story. There really is nothing interesting or endearing about Seraphine's character (in my opinion), and the side quest that involves her, and I found the part of v0.8 and v0.9 that concerns her the most tedious and uninteresting to navigate. Perhaps those who have played the Princess game previously will have some emotional connection, but for those who havent, she adds nothing to the story. Appreciate not everyone will feel the same way lol, but thought I'd share my thoughts.

That is an interesting observation. Seraphine was intended to fill the "trope" of annoying, overbearing passenger, which you can find in many sci-fi series (that she is a cameo from Princess is just coincidence) That is why she is not part of the crew and should rather act as a foil for the others, who, as you pointed out, have their defined roles. Going forward with 1.10 is a good point in time to to decide how much to flesh out that role. A poll to check how well she is received is in order, I think. I was frankly surprised when in the last poll she did not score first or second. I personally like the model and the personality (next to T'Ris), but that should add to the story of course. If the poll does not go favourably, I might "park" her in the player base for visual candy and rather focus on the final crew member.

I agree here. I find that it's not only about the fact that her story doesn't seem to be going anywhere that really interests me, but also about the main character's reaction to her. The MC is already a bit of a pushover, but with the princess it's much worse. We begin the story with the tale of a princess about to be turned into a Krell pet, but what we get is a brat who demands a bathtub made of the most expensive material in the galaxy and for some inexplicable reason we give it to her. Given the huge inconvenience she is to the ship and crew a more practical approach might be to sell her to the Krell for a huge sum of money. While I don't imagine this is the way the story should go, we could at least threaten the princess with this outcome to keep her in line or make her more appreciative of her rescue. In short, I feel like the MC is bending over backwards without any apparent reason to do so.

Princess is number ONE for me, the more we have with her, the better impo. <3

I expect the poll to be quite interesting :) As to Seraphine's character: The bratty type is the only one that really fits her. That being said, a firmer position of the MC (who is the only one who can deescalate conflicts between her and the crew) is definitely helpful. Characterwise I always think of the episode In Enterprise, where Tucker got stuck in an escape capsule with an overbearing Princess: In that episode indeed Tucker got the upper hand by asserting that he was necessary for her rescue and she eventually came around... I still should establish early on storywise why the ship's mission needs her despite her high maintenance... Still she can/should show a perverted side and provide some fun for the MC...
