The Androids of Tara had as a working title The Androids of Zenda. The 1980 novelisation was by Terrance Dicks, who was later the script-editor on the 1984 BBC serialisation of the BBC's adaptation of the Anthony Hope novel, The Prisoner Of Zenda. Both had the lengthy obligatory sword fight. Just as a thought. The 1937 film might make a good reaction movie. It's a good romp.

Thank you for an outstanding reaction. I do love this story, as with any story that has me asking questions afterwards. I'm still quite fascinated as to how an ostensibly medievil society has technology which allows them to create believable Androids and for some reason only the peasents seem to have the ability to do maintenance on them. Did they inherit it from a previous civilisation, have they gone through some kind of Dark age (as with Colony In Space) and somehow reverted to a medievil lifestyle or is there another explanation? I'd l;ove to see this revisited in New Who so that they can address that. Really glad you're loving this season! See you next time!
