You made the comment that you do not even remotely miss being a teenager. You and me both on that one. You made the quip saying “Semantics” when Bruno notes Kamala saved him only after she almost killed him, I got a big laugh and said, “I said the exact same thing when I saw the episode.” It’s nice to hear that you’re enjoying the music. I mean, I don’t-I didn’t recognize any of the songs myself, but it was nice to hear you’re enjoying the music, even if it does provide a mild nightmare, editing and copyright-wise. It is nice that the episode provides more clarity as to how Kamala’s powers work. I agree that Bruno’s reticence to leave for California probably stems from the fact that he loves Kamala. And even if it isn’t strictly speaking romantic love, just the idea of being away from Kamala is likely an idea that is not appealing to him. I had a feeling that you’d really like Nakia, her speech, and her running for the board. I would wager that the mysterious nature of Kamala’s family will be the driving focus of the series. It’s great how the enigmatic nature of the family history is showcased by the Pick-a-Little, Talk-a-Little sewing circle all saying different things. I was suspicious about Kamran throughout the episode. It cracks me up some in that the show instantly addressed my suspicion at the end, because I was yelling, “Wait! Are you telling me this guy just HAPPENED to be in the exact spot where Kamala was to be able to save her?!” As you say, how good or bad that particular situation is remains to be seen. Your observations about Kamala’s mother seem valid and I think it’s quite likely you are accurate on said observations. That you are taking the time to try to understand her perspective, her reasoning, and possibly why she feels that way is one of the reasons why I love your post-episode thoughts, precisely because you don’t just write a character or situation off. You really as I said take the time to really examine and try to understand and empathize. It’s an aspect of your reactions and post-episode thoughts that I really treasure, Jess. Thus far your reactions to this show have been fun. Much like Moon Knight, when it comes to Ms. Marvel, she also is a character I am unfamiliar with, hence I doubt I’d be able to comment on anything that would be a spoiler from the comics, not purposefully anyway. Hopefully you don’t get spoiled by anything. Thanks for the fun reaction, Jess.

People came for you in the comments for not hating the mom? Wow. That's disappointing. Most characters are more complex than if you just like them or hate them. I agree that I get the feeling Kamala's mother might have come from hardship, and this possibly colors the way she sees things. I'm glad they're not making her a one-dimensional "mom is the enemy" type character. Thank you for another great reaction!

Great reaction as usual. I love Kamala's family, especially the mom. Even when their strictness or religion causes obstacles you still see the love. First and foremost they are family. The actor for Muneeba (mom), Zenobia Shroff, is absolutely killing it. The scene where she overhears the dad telling the story about the train, there's so much emotion on her face that you can see why she is shutting down talk of Aisha and the bangle. It's not random strict mom stuff. Whatever happened back then caused real hurt and she's really afraid for her daughter and her whole family I think. Bruno is breaking my heart this episode. But he'll live. I do think that Mr Wilson should not be shocked by a little hesitation. When I was 18 I almost didn't go to university because leaving the village I lived in to go study in a city hundreds of miles aware was deeply scary. I don't think that's the case for Bruno. I think it's about being separated from Kamala, but I bring it up because mixed emotions about going so far away should be in the range of what a guidance counselor would expect. He's a fun character though so he gets a pass from me.
