"I hope this is a fun episode..." Oh, she's gonna love this one :) Never fear, there are some terrific fun ones on the horizon. Easily my favorite of all the TOS horror themed episodes. In the 80s DC comic series, they did a sequel where Redjac returned and that was a great little story arc. As a murder mystery, yes... Hengist 'doth protested too much' and was the obvious candidate to start looking at. Ol Redjac must have had it so easy on Argelius being in charge of law enforcement he forgot how to keep his cool when the heat was on. Happy crew is best crew!

Josef Schiltz

A few years back, on my old tape recorder a bass with a dub, i made a nice little recording of Redjac - John Fiedler -singing 'When You Wish Upon A Star' - gave it a bit of echo whilst i was at it. It did creep a few people out. Also, John played the voice of Piglet in the Disney Winnie the Pooh movies. You'll never see Piglet in the same way again. I'm a Surrealist. I enjoy life that way sometimes!

Ryan

John Fiedler is best known as the voice of Piglet, but he was highly prolific in live action too, with that high-pitched voice instantly making him stand out. Other highlights are 12 Angry Men, A Raisin in the Sun, and The Odd Couple.

Certainly, as you say an enjoyable episode. A highlight of this episode for me is John Fiedler. John’s one of those character actors who was always fantastic in anything, As I see that Josef and Ryan have commented, John’s best known for being the voice of Piglet in Winnie the Pooh. And like Ryan said, John was fairly prolific in film and tv. Twelve Angry Men, The Odd Couple, and A Raisin in the Sun containing some of his most notable performances. His performance as Hengist is highly jarring seeing him in a villainous role, and it’s remarkably chilling. It’s terrifying and wonderful to watch. I enjoyed how you were being most suspicious of him, but at the same time, you were considering all options as to who the murderer was. I got issues with the opening scene and the sexism therein. Likewise, I didn’t care for Spock’s comment which I second your statement saying that Spock was deserving of a time-out after saying what he said. I hold a similar mentality to your approach to some of the sexism in Star Trek in that provided it does not become overwhelmingly oppressive in an episode, I try not to let hamper it my enjoyment watching the episode too much. The crew being high on the tranquilizers is a hoot. Your reaction to that was great. Regarding the observation you made saying Sulu having a subtle sass, Sulu doth have a dry wit, I agree. This was a very enjoyable reaction, Jess. Now I’m very much looking forward to next week’s reaction to what is a most... troublesome... episode of Star Trek. Can’t wait to see it.
