It wasn't that it's not the Jedi way to choke the dude, it was that she was choking the dude out of hate which leads the dark side of the force. Ahsoka was just cautioning her to not go down that path. Force choke is one of the dark side force uses along with force lightning, so choking the dude to death wouldn't have been good.

I understand that however I still think it's easier to say that when you haven't been abandoned and hunted as long as her watching nearly everyone you come in contact with die terribly. That was more my point.

What I like about that force choke scene was Kalifa's realization that maybe she was acting like one of those predators hunters herself, of course based on her trauma of how much pain she's been through. I feel in that moment Ahsoka helped to guide her back to herself.
