Certainly, a dramatic season finale. If I was on the Enterprise, I’d have spoken up saying that Kirk should have been benched, precisely because I can understand his frustration throughout the episode. If my brother and sister in-law got killed like how Kirk’s brother and sister in-law were killed, I highly doubt I’d be able to think straight, and I have no nieces or nephews, so I can only imagine what Kirk was going through when it came to his nephew. And then Spock is attacked on top of it, if all that doesn’t result in Kirk becoming emotionally compromised, I don’t know what would. I’m with you on that there was no call for Kirk yelling at Uhura. I also agree with your saying that blaming Bones for something that wasn’t even his fault will not stand. Though it is of course great that Spock regains his eyesight, the reveal about Vulcan’s having inner eyelids is a rather silly plot contrivance, that when it is revealed at the end of the episode, I end up saying, “Well... That’s just lazy writing.” Congratulations are in order for your completing the first season of Star Trek, as well as my thanks for yet another terrific Star Trek reaction. It’s no bother that there will be a week’s delay for the next reaction. Actually, the timing is quite fortuitous as there are a few personal matters that I have to attend to next weekend. As a result, I was expecting that it would not be until a few days after you uploaded the next Star Trek reaction when I would have the time to see it. Therefore, the delay will as I say not be a bother. Particularly because the first episode of season two is one of the best episodes of Star Trek. Can’t wait to see it.
