I agree! I had the same feeling about this episode. I enjoyed it, never got bored. It was a fun adventure and a perfectly entertaining special. (Did you catch Karl at the end, watching the fireworks? The target of "Tim Shaw" whom the Doctor saved on the crane in her first adventure as 13.

By the way, I don't know if perhaps your friend who edits things for you so that you are not spoiled (that's Mark, isn't it?) won't want to maybe send you the trailer for the next special, since the title itself is spoilery and I think you would enjoy at least the surprise of the trailer without seeing the title before it's spoiled for you.

Aisling Bea may be my favorite guest star that's appeared in Doctor Who, present or classic. She was so, so hilarious. This was a great special, following a series that I really loved. I'm going to miss this crew!

I think John Bishop as Dan is the perfect supportive friend to help tell the Yaz and the Doctor story, however it turns out. He's spoken on chat shows about being supportive of his gay son, and so I think his genuine feelings of it not being anything taboo or wrong really shines through
