And I have ALWAYS thought Dean's lines about faith/angels were SO underappreciated for the reasons you mentioned! Him still struggling with faith, but NOT wanting Sam to be so upset by something he so strongly believed in <3 It's just a small, subtle way, that he'll ALWAYS try and put Sam's feelings/needs first!
