There's an odd deleted scene from this movie where Cameron gets to redeem himself a bit, apologizing for his stunt with the phone and advising Allyson on how to fix it. Then he's stupid enough to sass a couple cops and gets arrested. I kind of get why it was cut as it's very hard to tell just what we're supposed to think of him afterwards, but it also leaves him with no real closure as now he's seemingly just a one note asshole who gets away with everything.

I'll say one thing: the kind of month I've been having, seeing Michael Myers let loose and kill a lot of people really does go a long way to make up for it. I'm really happy you finally got to see this movie and I'm equally as happy to see how much you enjoyed it.
