Ah, the big questions. Why? You will find out... eventually. I absolutely love those moments when Dean's walls come down. After the mirror of the scene in the first episode (where Sam had said nothing they did would bring their mum back), you see the cracks in Dean's armour. All he has in the world is his family and he wants Sam to put that above killing the demon. Love seeing you get involved - these little moments are nothing to what will come later. And I know we groan at Dean's flirting, but you'll notice he ALWAYS puts duty first. In the Hook Man episode, he leaves a sorority party to find and dig up a grave. Here, he doesn't stick around and flirt with that pretty girl beyond a few seconds of "if only". He has work to do.
