I adore this entire running subplot for Worf. Then again, I love any episodes that are heavily character-centric. K'Ehleyr is one of my favorite characters on Next Gen.

Remember when The Schizoid Man had that Vulcan doctor Selar who was intended to be a love interest for Worf, but then they decided against it? Well, waste not want not, so here's Suzie Plakson back as a Klingon with almost the same name, as a love interest for Worf. Kind of the same unfortunate vibe as "Let's put Martha and Mickey together just because they're both black," but luckily in this case we get a whole episode for her and Dorn to establish their chemistry and let us see how they make sense together. The one other thing I have to note is that the whole arrival by probe thing is pretty naked padding for when they couldn't quite stretch the script to full episode length, but at least it's a big step up from just smashing two totally different episodes together, like we've seen this show is not above doing.

Michael and Suzie exhibit such good chemistry in this. Would have liked to have gotten more of the Vulcan character. The probe thing is odd. If they needed more time for the episode, they could have had a concluding poker scene. If Beverly were on board, I could see there being scenes of her and Picard talking about Worf and K’Ehleyr, or just hashing out ideas about how to resolve the dramatic plotline. Thankfully, the padding in this was minimal. And they don’t just staple together two disconnected plots as one would a Grindhouse picture, like you said.
