Monthly Update #6 & Incomplete Novel Glossary (Patreon)

So wow. It's about time I made the Monthly Update Post anyways, but something just happened that made it kind of feel like I had to get this up lol. I just passed my final goal on Patreon. I'm currently making over $1,000 a month from this and it's a little overwhelming.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again and I'll keep saying it forever and ever. It's all thanks to you guys. And your support of my work, your support of me, it means the world to me. This is my business now, and it's a self-sustaining one thanks to you guys.

If you had told me a year ago that I could be where I'm at right now, I would have laughed and said no, as cliche as that sounds. While I've been hobby writing for a couple years, and I was (and still am) an avid fanfiction reader for many years before THAT, I never imagined in all that time that I could make an actual living off of this.

But thanks to all of you, I am. I will continue to live up to your expectations of me.

And as I say that, it's time to lower expectations on a certain something. It's time to talk about the novel again. On my last Monthly Update, I said that I would be able to start my first original novel somewhere near the end of July. I clearly failed on that front, given we're five days into August.

But I failed for a good reason. This novel that I want to write isn't something I want to crank out in a day and say "done" before posting it for the world to see. I want to make something with a bit more substance to it. That means that the deadlines I've given myself that have worked so well for me on my Patron Requests and my Commissions, just won't work so easily with the novel. I need to let it flow as it flows. Anything less and I'll be shorting myself the full experience.

So the novel will come when it comes. In the meantime, I will continue to write endless smut for you all to consume on a daily basis. I know, I know, don't get too beaten up about it ;)

Still, I want to give you guys a little something that I have managed to get done concerning the novel. I've got some glossary terms here that I'm hoping you all might enjoy reading. If not, go ahead and scroll past these heh:

Zel

A purple skinned Arnian Scavenger with yellow eyes from the Syndicate of Worlds, a community of trader species with low morals and greedy gazes. Desperate to make it big, Zel has gone past the outskirts of Syndicate Space looking for untapped potential. He may have found it on a little mudball of a planet. 

Sweetheart

The name of Zel’s ship as well as the very limited artificial intelligence on said dinky little scavenger ship. Zel’s ship is falling apart at the seams, as all scavenger ships are. The AI that controls it is a few thousand cycles (months) from expiration.

Arnians

An alien species akin to demons. Skin tones range from bright pink to blood red to dark purple. Eye color is usually yellow, red, or orange. Teeth are sharp. Ears are knife-edged pointy. Head of horns instead of hair. 

Aletha Joyner

A young noblewoman on the cusp of adulthood. Light skinned and blonde, with blue eyes. Beautiful. Recently discovered to be a Dreamer. Sister to Alden Joyner, daughter to Lord Arith Joyner.

Alden Joyner

A young nobleman on the cusp of adulthood. Trained in sword, spear, and bow. Light skinned and dirty blonde with brown eyes. Well-muscled, a warrior in his own right. Brother to Aletha Joyner, son to Lord Arith Joyner, heir to House Joyner.

Dreamers

Human women “blessed by the gods”. In their dreams, they are visited by other-dimensional beings that grant them boons in the form of one off spells that Dreamers can stockpile. Dreamers are in fact merely psychic like some other species in the Syndicate of Worlds, however, the concentration of other-dimensional beings or ‘gods’ on their planet is absurd and makes their psychic abilities seem like magic of a width and breadth that Zel has never seen before.

Urtar (Ogrk)

Urtars are a mix between orcs, pigs, and wolves. Normal ears. Short snouts. Flat teeth. Full body fur. Urtars are battle hungry to the point that they get off on fighting. This is why humans call them Ogrks, for the sound they make as they’re stabbed, a moan followed by a cut off gurgle. They earn names from their battles, leading to them putting great emphasis on the number of names they have. It forms their social hierarchy.

Jusick

A lowly Urtar with every hope in the world. Dark of fur and skin. Beady eyes.  One named, but hoping to gain more and become the greatest Urtar Warlord the world has ever seen.

So yeah. Feel free to tell me I'm dumb or tell me what you like about the above. But I think it's about time to wind down this post, so I'll just say thank you from the bottom of my heart one more time... and then I'll write the TL;DR that says it as well ;P

TL;DR: WE HIT $1,000!!! Thank you, all of you, for your support on this amazing journey I've undertaken! I'm so overwhelmed by all the support I've gotten for this that I'm going to go ahead and say support twice in two sentences like a dumbie! And there I go again! I love you all and I can't promise it's entirely platonic ;)

On the subject of the novel, I can't/won't make any more promises on when more if its coming out! It's something that I feel like has to come on its own time.
