Content

This post contains all of DMDave's content organized for your benefit first by type (Dungeons & Lairs, Asset Packs, Books, etc.) and then by patron tier availability.

Latest Update: May 20, 2023

Below, when a patron tier has a "+" sign beside it, that means the listed tier plus all other tiers beyond it have access to the content. For example, Silver+ means that Silver, Electrum, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond have access to that content.

Dungeons & Lairs are weekly Fifth Edition "drop-in" adventures created by DMDave and the writing team. Each adventure features a specific monster in its typical environment. Although the featured monster is the adventure's dominant creature, it isn't the only creature, hazard, or obstacle found there.

Single-Sessions. Most of the adventures have a playtime of 3-4 hours, although there are some longer ones available.

Easy-to-read. The adventures are designed to be read quickly, making them easy to bring to the table.

Adjustable. They also have details on adjusting the adventure to fit a range of levels, typically one or two tiers of play.

So without warning I no longer have access to a lot of material despite being a Patron for a while? Or am I not understanding something...

dmdave

Folks who've been patrons for a while (like you) can hit me up on Discord, and I'll get you whatever you need. Mainly, this is to prevent theft which has been running fairly rampant as of late. I'll make a post about the change today.

Anonymous

OK, thanks. I guess for me the issues are that: (a) I will download to check/preview to see if I want/can use. So I only actually use about 20-30% of what I preview. (b) I might be more interested in specific older works, e.g., Kobold Tunnels, vs. more recent ones.

dmdave

Yeah, we'll have a system for that. I wish I could do "tokens", but Patreon doesn't allow for that.

I'm surprised/disappointed Patreon hasn't improved/innovated given the potential for abuse by Patrons. If they don't, someone else might come along as a worthy competitor...

dmdave

It takes a long time to build market trust, which, despite its myriad flaws, Patreon has. It's kinda like Kickstarter and Backerkit or Roll20 versus Foundry.

Lost a lot of things I wanted to run. I loved browsing in all the different adventures. I wished I downloaded everything.

dmdave

See the post I just put up. You can make requests to run stuff through the Discord and we'll give you what you need.

Stephanie Joy

I should have been downloading as I received stuff I guess. As I understand it I can only request one back download a week?

dmdave

Yeah, whatever you're going to run. If you need multiple (ie, you wanna do a sandbox), we can potentially arrange something. But I just want to ensure that folks aren't swiping the whole library in one go.

Stephanie Joy

I get that, but it does suck for those of us who have been supporting for a few years who go into the log and download when there’s something we think would fit with what they’re running. I just don’t have the bandwidth to download every time I get an email. A head’s up would have been nice, and now if I ask for the things I didn’t download yet that I want to use it’s going to be more work for you guys.

dmdave

We've got an admin team who've been informed and know how to get it. I'm still looking at a few additional options for folks who've been here for a bit, so they don't get the shaft. Either way, I'm listening to folks' responses and trying to make adjustments where I can.

Steve Skirata

Yup, a heads-up would really have been nice. I'm here for 11 months now and I'm panicking about whether I didn't download something and that it's gonna be bite me in the rear, since it's gonna be just what I would want to run, then :-/

Ltbadger

Dave for folks who have been with you for years [4 or 5 here] can you not provide a google drive link for a set period ... say 1 week for folks to grab stuff? I can see you or/and your staff quickly getting peeved at folks giving multiple requests to get the modules that they have "paid for" I am pretty sure I downloaded as you posted almost everything as I read and steal sections for the 5 campaigns I run as opposed to run each module. Just an observation for those who always thought it would always be there as they wanted to download it

dmdave

The trouble with that is the link would be too easy to share online. I'll chat with Bob about it since we'll be together in person next week. Really, all people have to do is message us and we can give them whatever. I was doing that for the most part even before the change haha

Ltbadger

Thanks for responding. I just know that If I hadn't downloaded as you created, I might suddenly be hit with a bacon butty moment feeling that although you have made the offer to give the long timers when they ask, it still feels like a loss of freedom of availability somehow. I dont envy you though as you have grown from the early days when this was all part time for you and you have youself and your staff incomes to protect. I wish you luck in finding a way forward.

David Geary

I'm just disappointed in people that with your very reasonable Patreon tastes they still steal. I can stay a Patron forever and just download to my own Maine as it comes available?

David Geary

To my own machine. I'm not in Maine. I'm also not a cat.

I love the way The Great Index is organized. Its nice to have the D&L, Bucklers and Asset packs in one place. Well worth the cost ( even the increased price, you guys are worth your weight in gold).

Holy Pickle

I become gold just recently - I was curious about the digital books and physical book rewards as part of this tier - how does this work?
