Discord is a facility which essentially lets you guys talk with me and each other, but it can also do other things too like let you guys look in if I ever decide to play some Total War, which I'm thinking about doing in the future if there's enough interest. This poll will basically help me decide if the market would be there - would you like to have the option to talk with me and each other at certain advertised points, or is that not really your cup of tea? Thankssss for letting me know history friends!

There is no reason why not to, people who want to talk can and people who don't do not have to be there.

Welcome Ambassador ;) That is true, but it is additional work for me, and I would also like to check if there is genuine interest either way. I'm almost certainly going to still go ahead with Discord in any case, certainly after this upcoming project drops since I'm sure you guys will have a lot to say!

Mos5ly interested in the total war part :)

So am I! I feel it'd be great to make Poland great again in some sense, especially after the tragedy of the Polish Miniseries. I'll take requests closer to the time of course - a new laptop will be my present to me in June ;)

What is that? Is it a discussion forum? Like say slack? Is discussion curated or is it a free for all with trolls and low quality items? My personal preference is (if that what discord is) to interact with history minded people on your own board on Reddit. There are some really good history boards on there (AskHistorians for instance) with good curated content. If I've got the wrong end of the stick then sorry.

I probably wouldn't be able to watch live, but if these sessions were recorded and uploaded to YouTube in parts it could be a fascinating "Let's Play". I love Total War, and would be keen to see watch a campaign with a whole lot of interesting WDF information thrown in.

It is a program that can be downloaded or used in the browser and functions as a chatroom which you can only get in by getting a link to it. It has a voice and text channel and is normally moderated by mods which can be appointed by the chatroom creator.

Thanks. Seems very limited and yet another app to install just to talk.

Total war is great. EU4 is my new favorite history game. It's less about the micro management of battlefield tactics and more about macro state building and diplomacy. Lots of combat of course, just at a different level. Just my 2 cents. I also think a Let's Play is great. I love what your doing Zack, keep

Yes indeed Daniel, that's the plan once I figure out how to do that! Uploading some lets plays would be interesting, and I love the idea of making Poland great again or something to that effect!

Thanks Daniel, your two cents are most welcome! Personally, I found EU4 super overwhelming, so I'd have to be sure and get some kind of guide to it before jumping in. The likes of TW also appealed to me, I guess because they were relatively simple beasts, even if the AI left much to be desired in the diplomatic/strategic sphere. Exciting times nonetheless!

I understand your apprehensions, but let's see what we can make of it first. I'm optimistic that it'll provide another avenue for you guys to talk more with me about different aspects of episodes etc. For the record I did try Reddit, but I seemed to get kicked out of it very fast - they don't seem to tolerate people talking about their podcasts, even though I was being as careful as possible not to offend. I'm always open to finding ways to expand our history friend community, since I feel that can only be a good thing :)

It does take some getting into, but once you know what you're doing you'll be hooker. The average playtime is some 150 hours or something from what I remember.
