I KNOW 💯 DETAILS...oh...oh, no...I'm boring aren't I?
Tough tribbles: here's one. Klingons' blood is only pink in this. (It's red before and after).

Reason: the mpaa said "too much blood, so R rating." Writer/director Nick Meyer said, "Damn the photon-mythologies, full plot ahead!" and made their blood pink for this one bit of all Star Trek just to get a PG-13.

Meyer is a master film-crafter. He don't care 'bout internal logic; he cares about making 🔥 on screen, and I love him for that.

Indeed tis the best Trek film, even better than 2!...which was written and directed by the exact same guy.

Can't help another nugget: after the Shatner directed disaster of Star Trek 5 George Takei (Sulu) declared he'd never work with Shatner ever again (look it up...it's a thing). Director Meyer convinced him explaining that Sulu's a captain in 6 and he only has to be on set with Shatner one day for a final shot of the crew together.
Takei had one demand: his ship is larger than Kirk's. Meyer said: no prob; we'll even add a line about that. 🤗

one correction. Meyer didn't write Khan. Jack Sowards, Harve, and Gene did. Meyer was a key writer of Voyage Home though.
