WHEW, okay! I know I usually post devlogs on Monday, but I was on a time crunch to get this chapter done this month. Doing the animations took a lot longer than anticipated (pixel animation is actually pretty hard work, what the fuck). Anyway, chapter two can now be played on Itch. I hope you enjoy!

Ya'll are the reason why I can even devote time to this project, so thank you so much! And, as always, please let me know if you run into any bugs.

The bonus chapter will come out in the following weeks :3 Going forward, I will be experimenting with some different ways to distribute bonus chapters so please bear with me.

Devlog/Behind the scenes stuff:

New Addition 1: Finished animations

I make all of the art for this game in Aseprite, but I will admit that I'm still getting used to the software when it comes to animating things. My timelines get quite messy near the end, as you can see:

There are 31 frames of animation in this chapter, which doesn't seem like a lot, but it took forever. Some layers are also turned on or off for certain animations, which increases the number of unique looking animations. When it comes to anatomy, I usually draw a flat chested person with a vagina first and then have separate layers on top of it that I can show/hide with dick/boobs/longer hair.

Sometimes I have to draw completely separate animations for different anatomy choices, though, for instance:

New Addition 2: Added everything to the game + CODE

If you're curious about what the game looks like in the game engine:

I could probably be a little tidier. Speaking of tidy, whenever I convert my markdown to JSON in the terminal, I get met with this and feel like taking a nap:

And finally: TESTING πŸ’€

Testing sucks ass, nothing much else to say about that. I basically play the game on different browsers/devices to make sure it works as intended. CSS is kind of strange because it can look different on different browsers. For example, here's how the same menu looked on Safari VS on Chrome:

As you can see, there is weird overflow happening in Safari that is not present in Chrome. While fixing this kind of thing is easy, it is similarly easy to miss during development.

My least favorite part of all of this is proofreading, though. I am simply terrible at it πŸ˜…

Alright, that's it for today! Time to take a looooooong nap.
