Hello,

thanks to Sorgelig doing the HPS/Linux part, we can now load CD images in iso or bin format directly from SDCard, USB or Network to the core like it works for the other CD cores!

Before talking more about that, I want to use the chance to encourage you to support his Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FPGAMiSTer

Not only because he helped me endless times, but even more for all he constantly does for the project. There would be no GBA, Lynx, WonderSwan or PSX core on MiSTer without him and even no MiSTer at all.

So is the dual SDRAM requirement gone? Yes!

The core can now be used again with a single SDRam module of any size.

Also the size limitation is gone with that, so CD images of any size can be loaded.

Furthermore I added a SPU stub. You won't get any sound with that, but it allows a bunch of games to boot or even fully run, because they are not longer waiting endless for SPU responses.

You can try the version attached below if you like.

Please make sure you update your Mister Main either manually or with the update script, otherwise it will not work.

This is still a very early version with many bugs, please keep that in mind. At the current state, I don't need any bug reports.

Have fun!

I was wondering, will eventually be able to overclock the CPU or maybe the Disc Access somehow of the PSX to get faster loading time without affecting the actual execution? To avoid for example some of the incredibly slow loading times of FFIX

Looking forward to the next release. You've done an excellent job making quick progress.

Maybe there will a fast CD mode later, but some games will not work with it, especially FMV playback. CPU overclock is very unlikely.
