Of course I am! Why wouldn't I? There's money to be made! The attached image will be the first, fully authorized Richard Moore NFT. Bidding will start at $1000, and it will come with all the standard features of a non-fungible token: zero security (in fact, they are very easy to steal), no intrinsic worth, nearly impossible to re-sell, and membership in an ethically-challenged community that sees the generation of wealth as the ultimate goal in life!

I've been asked by a number of people if I'm going to be doing NFTs. When I saw that the platform where I "sell merch" is now offering NFTs, I thought I should weigh in.  No. No, I will not be doing NFTs. They are a con, a scam, a new twist on an old way of separating people from their money. Yes, a small handful of people have made money, but only because they got in early and manipulated the market. For anyone looking to get in now, don't. It's basically legal gambling, only you have a much better chance of winning in Vegas. When I make art, it may not always be the best in the world, but it is always the best I can do. When people buy my art, they are paying for my time and labor in creating it. Hopefully, they get some enjoyment from it, and if they feel like selling it on in the future, they can do that. But I don't want people paying ridiculous prices for a digital scan (and I don't give a flying squirrel's fart about its alleged uniqueness via the blockchain) just because they think it's worth something, then being stuck with it when they want to turn it around and make a profit. Collectibles have value to those who collect them not only because they can sell them to other collectors, but because they truly love whatever it is they collect. No one loves a digital scan created solely for financial value. In short, I'm not about ripping off my readers.  Oh, and NFTs are absolutely terrible for the environment, and getting worse.

The attached image, by the way, is a small inset panel from one of my "Cosmic Connections" pages. In fact, she's the blue, cat-like alien you sometimes see in one of the Naughty Bits banners.
