Here's another Cheesecake of Horror sketch (again, on Arches 140# hot press watercolor paper), a cute swamp creature in her native habitat. I really like the whole floating underwater thing, and I'm looking forward to painting the water. I thought I'd repost the sketch page from awhile back, showing how these things can develop from the simplest little sketches. (You can also see the booty witch from last week there, in an even cruder form.) You can see that I lengthened her torso a bit, changed her fins, and moved her right hand. (It may not be apparent in the thumbnail, but when I sketched it out full size on the watercolor paper, that hand looked like some kind of crawdad tail curling under her ass. Fortunately, I caught it at an early stage!) I obviously went with the original, cartoony face on this one, but I may try a layover with a more realistic face, to see which works best. I just don't want to lose that adorable cuteness.
