     This is the page that took longer than I expected. There are several pages from this short roughed out--but they're just that: roughs. Just shapes, really. I'd intended to refine them just enough to clarify what's going on, but I went too far on the first panel I did, so I was sort of committed to a much more detailed rendering of the page.

     This short, called "A Bite to Eat", is set in the world of Creep's End and Gobs; in fact, the main character is a sort of proto-Marna (from Creep's End). The aggressive male characters are tarmainguilles (pronounced "TAR-men-GAILs") --basically winged werewolves. They're nasty characters, best avoided. And in case anyone's bothered by their "rapey" behavior, you can relax: In this incarnation, Marna was half-elf, half-creepy spiderlike predator-thing. She uses her feminine wiles to lure in prey, they sprouts spider legs and fangs and pounces.
